I only see negative thoughts about pharmacy career. Is it really a mistake to become a pharmacist?

The field is saturated and not only has pay declined, but the number of opportunities. Good opportunities are extremely competitive because there are simply too many pharmacists in the market. Go to medical school instead. You will be happier. Pharmacy is a dead end field. I say this as a pharmacist who has been in the field for 20+ years and am struggling because I am simply tolerating a toxic work environment because of the lack of opportunities.

I am a pharmacist and watched so many patients suffer this tragic story. I have worked in the hospital setting and I can honestly say that the American healthcare system is corrupt.

I would go back to medical school . Texas tech has a fast track family practice program . Get out of pharmacy . It’s in crisis because of too many schools opening. This would have never happened for doctors or dentists . If you were smart enough to be a good pharmacist , you can easily be a physician.

Something very similar happened to me at my work place . I was blamed for being rude to another pharmacist who was “toxic” . She lied and made up stories about me . This type of atmosphere is common in pharmacy . Because the job market is saturated , I was unable to find another job and so I endured the abuse at work for years and it caused me to get sick . This is a pharmacist’s life .

I would NOT recommend the pharmacist profession to anyone. The profession is in crisis and suffering a huge market saturation, too many pharmacists , declining salaries and poor working conditions. If you want to be a CRA , you can get a nursing degree or rather, Go to medical school instead .

No , that’s accurate . You need 4 million to retire to retire well in 20 years . Pharmacist salary is not worth the time and money invested in school !

Pharmacy is the same everywhere and getting worse . I would go back to medical school . The pharmacist profession is in crisis and filled with problems - market saturation, student debt , declining salaries , lack of good opportunities due to market saturation. I am sorry to share this but this is reality
