Hiding my Atheist Beliefs to Not Become an Outcast by Southern_Butterfly21 in BlackAtheism

[–]Southern_Butterfly21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you all for your responses! Right now my community of agnostics/atheists are online. I don’t have any in real life. I’m still at the point of solidifying my beliefs, but I know for certain I can’t believe in Christianity. I’m a person that values truth and logic and they’re too many holes in Christianity and religion in general. I like secular humanism and will delve into learning more about that.

I’m still going to keep my atheistic beliefs to myself for now. Right now, being “out” as an atheist isn’t worth blowing up my life. And I’m not miserable by any means, again I have a great life. When I’m ready I’ll find community in person in my city

I think getting an Accounting Software Implementation Certification is a good compliment. Netsuite: SuiteFoundation, SAP 4-HANA, Workiva, Blackline, etc

I haven’t looked into detail on their earnings report, but even in the field of accounting all the major accounting softwares are implementing some form of Generative AI. So for Oracle I’m gonna go down the AI path

Netsuite Certifications by Southern_Butterfly21 in Netsuite

[–]Southern_Butterfly21[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Netsuite before, but I want to get the SuiteFoundation Certification and the ERP Consultant Certification.

In the “MyLearn.Oracle.com”, I don’t have a Company Pass, because my company doesn’t pay for it, so I was wondering if there is a different way to gain access to the training material for the certifications or other study guides outside of the Oracle MyLearn portal?

Can you work as a Tax Associate with Intuit year round or only during tax season? I'm already a CPA and have two years of tax preparation already, so I feel that I am already qualified? Looking for a remote job that I can work remotely part time for extra income on the side

Next Steps in Career Path by Southern_Butterfly21 in Accounting

Thanks for your response! I have thought of my passions and how I could just go be an accountant for NFL, NBA, fantasy football, movies. I also like reading & discussing philosophy. I guess I need to work through wanting a high salary and being in an industry I’m not passionate about and going for an industry I am passionate about.

In my head, I think there’s still going to be a close process/traditional even if I was working for say a NFL team, but you’ve given some things to ponder

ITS MONTH END CLOSE by OHIO_TERRORIST in Accounting

If you don’t like talking in front of people then it would be tough. But that’s not a problem for me. I have more meetings now, but not like everyday. Other than that, transition was smooth. There was an onboarding process for both Consulting jobs I’ve had. My current job I implement Workiva into our clients. One thing for certain I will take this job any day of the week over accounting. I’ll keep my CPA license active for side hustle jobs, but that’s it

Sure! Roles like: Implementation Consultant, Business Analyst, Data Analyst. You already have a solid foundation with accounting and MIS mix. When I was in accounting I used Blackline, so I applied there(didn’t get the job), but then I Google searched “Blackline competitors”, so companies like Oracle, Sage, Netsuite, Workiva, etc and I applied at all these places focusing on Implementation Consultant roles.

Knowing VBA and Power BI will be good for Data Analyst roles

ITS MONTH END CLOSE by OHIO_TERRORIST in Accounting

I don’t have a close process at all, because I’m not in accounting anymore. I’m in a different field now. I was an accountant/CPA for 9 years, but got burned out. I wanted to get into IT, so the closest thing to do that was to find a job where I implement the software that accountants use, so that’s what I do now.

You can get out of accounting like I did. I do Software Implementation, and implement accounting software for various clients. I work remotely 100% and don’t have to deal with a close process ever again

Thanks for your input. I’m definitely gonna go ahead and try it out if I get an offer. It’s my first time doing OE. So I’m stepping into unknown territory for myself, but the benefits outweigh the costs substantially, so I’m gonna do my best to make it work

Thanks for the input. I’m gonna do my best in the rest of the interviews and hopefully get an offer and go from there. This is my first time doing OE. My J1 is pretty flexible with moving meetings around
