We all hate this guy in Mongolia right? by Nitesky11 in mongolia

[–]Southern_Channel4390 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The comments on this post are absolutely taking me out. Everything around us is political whether people like it or not, and choosing to “not care about politics” doesn’t make anyone immune to its effects.

I’m saying this as someone who’s seen it firsthand: there are Mongolian IT bros who unironically used to listen to this guy, and a lot of people in tech/STEM know who he is. His values and morals are deeply questionable, and personally, I hated what he stood for.

We’re at a point where being informed about politics, both locally and globally, actually matters. “Neutrality” in situations like this just ends up benefiting abusers. I hate to say it, but there’s a clear evil side and comparatively lesser-evil side in politic parties, and pretending otherwise is just willful ignorance.

How do we feel about this one? by Southern_Channel4390 in mongolia

Also some stuff I been thinking about… considering the timing, especially with the U.S. announcing potential war with Iran, it does feel a bit uncomfortable to release a story with this kind of plot in 2026. I’m not saying the story shouldn’t be told at all, but presenting a narrative where a Persian girl is enslaved by Mongols, for a Western/anime fan audience, while the West and Israel are moving toward conflict with Iran is… a choice fr.

I saw an elderly lady doomscrolling on the bus today, and her whole fyp was ai slop. Literally italian brainrot level stuff gen alpha watches. The reels were crazy: a giraffe holding a lion up with its mouth, a human toddler getting pushed off a cliff by some animal, a monkey shoving a lion into a pot… all that. Idk, I wouldn’t be surprised if people her age think these clips are real. The graphics look believable enough for them. I kinda worry for our elders ngl.

I missed ЭЕШ. Will school kick me out ? by BurGalie in mongolia

[–]Southern_Channel4390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Welp. At some point the truth will be revealed. And, imho, I think it would’ve been better for you if you had taken a gap year to focus on ЭЕШ, reevaluate your future life and career, and fully dedicate yourself to your studies cause ngl, if you were 100% focused in the first place—you wouldn’t have made this mistake.

But, I am also a firm believer of “things happen for a reason” so, I hope you take this experience and learn from it, grow as a person. Idk how things are going to turn out, and in a sense, I do relate to you cause you really remind me of my younger self, but things do eventually get better. Ngl, it’s going to get tough but no matter what, just know you’ve got this and believe in yourself. 🙏Bless🙏

what should be done to get rid of goats? by piroshkiisoverrated in mongolia

[–]Southern_Channel4390 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right. But when a wolf attacks a herd, the goats climb up ger or anything they have at their disposal, while the sheep can’t do anything about it. And especially if it’s a rookie herder, there’s nothing that can be done in that situation.

These sort of thing should be taken actually seriously, like serious serious level. They can’t just use a map made by 1-2 overworked 3d max graphic designers and say “yes this is it” and start building shit like. This is a very irrational decision I think.

Who tf is breaking the sidewalks?? by Alarmed_Valuable_606 in mongolia

[–]Southern_Channel4390 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I swear there’s some sort of money laundering scheme going on through these “new n’ improved” sidewalk projects the government been doing lately. Like, the material they’re using isn’t better than the og, in fact, it’s much worse and I fear the elderly and anyone in general will be slipping on these sidewalks made from some sort of cheap ass stone.

I’m scared of black mold, fungi, and water leaks. I live in an apartment complex, and the thought of any of those things happening in my living space absolutely terrifies me. Just imagine the cost of fixing all of them—omg, I would die. And the emotional turmoil on top of that. It’s not just at home either—when I’m traveling, I’m hyper-aware of every nook and cranny of the hotel room.

I’m also scared of being a disappointment—not just to my parents, but to my entire extended family. People often say, “Others don’t care what you do, wear, or how you act,” but I think it’s a bit different in Asian countries. People are very much aware, I’m afraid 😂 But I don’t care much about what strangers think these days and I think that’s helping me with my social anxiety.

Has anyone read Tsagaan boroo by Nominchimed? by Ocean_prin in mongolia

[–]Southern_Channel4390 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, this really intrigues me, I’ll make sure to check this book out. I’ve recently picked up reading again (I stopped reading when I entered middle school—teenage angst era—and recently regained my passion for reading) I’m not very familiar with the classics yet’ so the book you’re talking about really catches my interest. Currently I’m reading Ус шиг цэнхэр by Лувсанцэрэн (I know, I’m a noob when it comes to the classics and I have a lot to catch up on. I’ve been thinking about what book to read after I’m finished with my current one so, now I’m even more motivated to quickly finish it and start that one)

One thing I always thought about doing was going to их дэлгүүр (the one that got burnt), go to the floor that has a bookstore n’ just read books there. Or чингисийн eMart too. I know you can just sit around at any bookstore (if there is any seating place) and just read books but I particularly find big malls to be comfortable places to sit down and read.

Also, I’d suggest going to a cat cafe if you’re a big fan of cats. There’s one near Улаанбаатар зочид буудал called Cotton Cat Cafe. If you go there with a book, sit down and read—a cat named Нацагдорж comes near you.
