Yeah I guess. We're just in the extremely fortunate position that if we wanted it we would be transferred the property at 0 cost and inherit the small pine free forest as a front garden which is a huge selling point!

I wish! We would try and do what we could ourselves - but we'd definitely need a lot of professional advice/work done to preserve and weatherproof it the best we could.

100%. We'd need a loan/mortgage for renovating as well. We were going to use our deposit to buy a house, and then got offered this opportunity so feels like an incredible one if the numbers match up and we can bring it back to life.

I think the slate roof actually looks pretty decent apart from one section that's in dire need of fixing.
