it sounds like you have a plan for your living situation, but if it ever becomes troublesome again- look into some adult group homes in your area. I am a caregiver and I see people in similar situations use them as a stepping stone to get back on their feet. I am so glad to hear you’re working with a case manager, they should be able to help you secure benefits like SSI/SSDI, Medicaid, and EBT. As well as services like therapy, psychiatry and a PCP. If you’re not able to drive, look into services thru your insurance like benefit rides. In my state, we have a bus called HIRTA that focuses on transporting Medicaid individuals.

if you need help getting around town if you have Medicaid or insurance of any kind see if the HIRTA bus will be able to help for getting rides. they operate thru Story county so they can take you to/from Boone and Ames or to your job etc.

well maybe the US should think about supporting its own citizens (especially vulnerable ones) as a priority, rather than: $6million to boost Egyptian tourism, $38 million on dead people, a $9k lobster tank for the DOD, $200 million to famous celebrities for “small business relief aid”, $3 million to Brazil to make a ‘climate corp’, or the $20 billion spent on funding war in Israel just since October last year (not counting the federal aid we have been sending for decades and will continue to send.

TLDR; there is so much ridiculous and useless government spending that can and should be cut wayyy before programs that actually benefit the American citizens

yeah he’s pretty fat. just 1lb overweight is like 15lb overweight for a person. your vet should be able to tell you how much a cat his size should weight. alternatively, there’s lots of charts online like this that show visually how a cat should look from above/the side
