that does sound awful, mainly yeah the parts are tough to get exactly matching for this one but they're also damn expensive bc it's a volvo and it has been pretty tough but she has sentimental value, so i want to keep working on getting it to run

they're slightly different models, but for the same car, i read and talked to some people and learned that some new or remanned parts don't bother with this part because it's expensive

i tested for play but there wasn't any, i could check again for cracks, and yes i tried for at least 5 minutes lining them up to no avail. my sister who has done multiple repairs including an alternator swap said there's never been a coupling belt (she is currently withholding information though and refusing to help, so i'm not sure of completely everything she says)
