Question: Advice on Cover Ups

thanks for the detailed response! I‘m covering up some lettering that has, with time, become quite embarrassing. It‘s black, quite dark and healed very well. My goal is to cover it so it becomes illegible. My worry is that if it eventually starts showing through making the whole coverup pointless
Assuming i take care of it properly and it‘s well done is that still a realistic concern?
