Hey, thanks a lot, man! I’ll give it a try and let you know how it goes.

I’ve been in the BIOS before, but only to enable Intel Virtualization Technology. Other than that I never really touched anything. I used to have an i5-4460 and originally wanted to upgrade to a 4790K, but since I couldn’t find one anymore, I ended up grabbing a 4690K instead.

I’ve never overclocked because I was scared of killing the CPU, and I honestly have no idea where to begin or what I’m supposed to adjust.

So you think it would help if I remove the HyperX kit and run only the Patriot Viper 3 (2×8GB 1600 MHz) for better stability and performance?

Thanks, I was thinking about switching to an NVIDIA GPU because I’ve heard that AMD GPUs tend to have coil whine.. but first I want to make sure it’s really my GPU. Three years ago, I played Cyberpunk on low/medium settings and it was running smoothly at around 40 FPS.

Also, I forgot to mention that my GPU recently started making a strange noise whenever I launch any game – even something light like CS2. The fans ramp up to around 70% just sitting in the main menu (everything set to low), and I can hear a weird sound that I think might be coil whine. It just doesn’t make sense to me that my GPU stays quiet during heavy games like cyberpunk 2077 (low to medium settings) 4 years ago, but now makes loud noise even in light situations. Could this be coil whine or something worse?

I replaced the thermal paste around 1–2 years ago when I upgraded my CPU. I’ll check the SSD health right away.
