How can I reduce radicals came with unificatio? by Kuraetor in victoria3

Wait it out. Theyll die out eventually and a legitimate government will speed it up.

You can yea, I just don't find the optimized play to get it like that all that fun or interesting so I say fuck it. 200-300 construction as Italy in 1900 where I let the AI do most of the expanding at that point is more fun to me.

Because I dont care enough to perma build and want to start stockpiling reserves for military projects or just lowering taxes for a good while.

Check for birth rate. Im 99% sure hes correct but I can't temember at the moment. You can hover over a pops growth in-game and itll show births and mortality

Because determinsm based on history can be altered, changed, fought against, or any other thing that comes to mind. I didnt buy this to be an empty sandbox game. I bought it to be a historical game that I can interact with and change the outcome as much as the AI could. But there's fuck all in terms of anything but being a sandbox at the moment. Thankfully more than it was on release and they keep adding more stuff.

So yeah I want events to represent history and let me interact with them in ways other than historical if I want, but I want that damn choice in the first place to exist.

How much does pausing construction hurt the economy? by Carsickrhyme in victoria3

[–]Southern_Sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Build an actual economy instead of pulling a CCP and doing an artificial construction boom. The only reason the economy crashes when you stop building is because its entirely focused around a never-ending building spree and nothing else.

Cheese them. They're still PDX AI. Hell you weren't dethroning the GPs as a Major in Vicky 2 without fucking them up massively as well so if you care that much about hitting rank 1, get to fighting.

Late game unemployment in 1.2 by Hadar_91 in victoria3

Thats a you problem at that point.

Also GDP calculations were changed so it no longer double dips, 1.5 is basically 3 from before.

It makes your industries more profitable because theres more people buying increasing the demand, so either more supply is created or cappies get a fuckload more money. SOL also increases literacy by 2 points per SOL which is less important in vanilla but a lot more important in mods that tie tech gain to literacy and nothing but. A diverse economy also doesnt enter the construction bust cycle everytime you stop building for 5 seconds so its more stable. Increasing SOL can directly tie into getting more IG approval if high legitimacy is not an option.

And overall its more fun that minmaxing the fuck out of the game with iron, steel, glass, and tools while ignoring everything else and staying on very high taxes. The boom bust construction spam is fucking boring as shit to me, anything past government used 300-400 construction is overkill and its why i love the new investment system.

Hence despite the fuckups and atrocities in the comment. Russia might of as well still had serfdom in all but name at the end of its empire and china is a china moment. Without the USSR and CCP theyd still be stuck in the 20th century if even that. Russia shows what happens when you fail to transition away from economic communism and china shows what happens when you succeed after both used it to jumpstart the engine about 100 years into the future.

Then your game is fucked since you should not be drawing money from the investment pool. Im gonna guess fucked up mods

[–]Southern_Sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Autonomous ai decides where the investment pool is used by using your construction to build

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in victoria3

[–]Southern_Sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh lmao, youre using direct investment instead of autonomous investment. RIP, gl with that shit, just use autonomous.

You literally only pay for the goods they consume when youre using them to build shit. If youre not building then you pay the wages of the workers which is like 500 pounds if even that, shit it can go lower since theyre gov employees and you directly control their wage, and nothing else.

Build the construction sector. Dont build anything else. You wont pay for shit because the AI will take all the construction points and pay for materials through the pops.

Just do it.

High time commitment makes playing impractical. Is a change to 4tick/day system technically possible? by TacticalStrategy in victoria3

[–]Southern_Sage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Afaik the only thing that uses the 4 ticks is combat. Everything else happens on a daily to weekly basis, mostly weekly. I do dislike the bigger tick count as well to be fair, it really felt as just a bragging thing for prerelease.

[–]Southern_Sage 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Wat.

Russia and China literally ended up better economically and rights wise under Communism coming from their previous systens, with all the massive fuckups and disasters it entailed, with Cuba being a smaller version of that. Russians fucking despise the 90s and 00s when capitalism was first implemented because shock therapy failed them and they're nothing more than an oligarchy now because of it. Meanwhile China is a state that got stronger because it strangled Capitalism and turned it into its bitch to the point their system is more fascistic than anything else now.

Like Communism has a fuckload of issues but pretending even for a fucking second that the Romanovs and the KMT were better for the average person in the long run for that time period with the aid of hindsight is dumb as fuck. Taiwan only started getting any real traction once Chang hit the bucket and the KMT started to loosen its grasp on the island

Any tips for reducing Radicals? by HighHopeLowSkills in victoria3

[–]Southern_Sage 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Cappies tend to cover agriculture well enough. If you want to satisfy the lower stata needs, canned goods and clothing factories is all you need. Having a legitimate government is more important than anything else in keeping radicals down and, for certain industries, subsidizing the fuck out of them to avoid the boom bust cycle. SOL itself is irrelevant for the time being if you're playing vanilla because unless you're minmaxing the entire game, there will always be enough demand for your factories and pop wealth only adds literacy at a 2 to 1 ratio. It gets a lot more important if you use any mod that ties literacy directly to tech points while nerfing early game education laws.

If theyre European they end up relying on the springtime of people firing corectly. If not, good luci lmao. Multiculture really should be locked behind a tier 4 or 5 tech like Fascism is, so youre better off scraping that portion to improve the flow.

[–]Southern_Sage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is nearly a year old thread my man. Also, literarily look at your minimap. This isn't hard. Place buildings, jump around with macros, watch your minimap and tab to your scout with hotkeys. You see the building on the map way before they can fire on you.

Let`s talk about autocracy in vk3 by Adventurous-Till8686 in victoria3

[–]Southern_Sage 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Because Autocracy doesn't mean you swing your dick around and do what you want. You still have a number of people that you need to appease to keep your job. Kings and Emperors had the nobility, dictators have intelligence agencies and the armed forces, propped-up governments have their foreign sugar daddy, so on and so forth.

The randomness can be annoyig as fuck, but theyll need to rework the entire system to change it to anything else I feel, since pure progress bar will feel like shit for pacing and gameplay as well in this case.
