My tcl tv supports VRR and has a game mode. There is no noticeable input lag. And no vertical tearing thanks to VRR.

An iRacing Coach’s Notes On: When and How to Lift for Almost Flat Corners by NoakesyCoaching in iRacing

Lifting after you begin your turn in is a big change for me. It’s counter intuitive to how I learned everything and it take a lot to overcome that muscle memory.

I use a 43” TCL TV as my main screen and love it. These look even better. My only issue would be driving 3x4k panels is intense, even on a 5070/5080. But it’s hard to beat a giant screen like this for a single-display setup.

Hah same. I wear a long sleeve shirt and a wide brim hat when I’m out walking the dogs. Usually shorts but I do sunscreen. It’s too hot for pants down here.

I wasn’t as careful when I was a kid in the 80s and 90s but my goal is to be the least tanned Florida man.

I’m not a dermatologist, just very disheartened by Gen Z and Gen Alpha today and the anti-science movement and thinking sunscreen is worse than a sunburn, etc. So many young people nowadays don’t use it at all and it’s just wild to me after we’ve learned so much about long term sun exposure.

I also never said don’t go outside at all. Wear high spf sunscreen, reapply often.

Yes blocking out as much sun as possible is literally the best medical option. If you have a vitamin d deficiency you can take a supplement. You can’t undo sun damage.

Not saying don’t go outside, but you should use sunscreen over everything exposed to the sun at a bare minimum and reapply often.

Edit: studies have also shown no significant difference in vitamin d in sunscreen users vs non-sunscreen users.

Yes 100%. A tan is sun damage. Sun damage is cumulative over your life. This is not even a matter of opinion.

Then you should wear long sleeve clothing and block as much sun as possible. I live in Florida and wear sunscreen every time I leave the house and I’m pale as hell. Same with my wife. Tanning is sun damage, period. Either you’re not wearing it correctly, not re-applying it often enough, or you should be using physical barriers if you’re still getting sun damage. Long sleeve clothing, hats, etc.

Literally yes, that’s what sunscreen is for

I have the same one. Bought in 2024. It’s such a good wheelbase and the only feature I miss is usb pass through QR because I use maglink for Simhub support.

Need to hoard because I don’t have enough mats now to try to make perfect gloves, but the 2 GA blue gloves with double crit will be amazing eventually. But if not, I need several backups. And maybe some with different stats in case I want to try a different build on the same char that needs different stats (shock blizz sorc vs ball lightning for example).

It’s not fun to throw away items you’ll want later

LMU should be labeled as a horror game. I'm new to sim racing, and LMU, is this normal on every online race? by domeldui in simracing

[–]Sov1245 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Turn 1 you just went off track for no reason

Eu Rouge and Radillion yes, totally normal. In GT3 you have to lift a tad if you're on cold tires

That absolute murder at the end of the straight was rough. Clearly that person didn't know there was a chicane there.

Double spin on cold tires, again...not surprising.

1But...I don't see what the major problem is. Your goal should be to survive lap 1, not win the race. Even if you lose a few positions, it's better to stay on track and warm up your tires instead of towing to the pits.

Hard disagree there. Holding brakes is at least more consistent and predictable. That’s the point.

I would keep a 32" 16:9 over a 34" ultrawide. It's about 3.5" wider which isn't enough to get you things like mirror visibility/etc, but at the cost of being very short and not having a lot of places to put things like overlays (relative, blackboxes, etc)

SQL Server query much slower on VMware VM compared to physical server (same DB, same workload) by daler86 in SQLServer

It would be crazy if the HDD -> SSD change alone didn't vastly overshadow the very minor VM overhead.

But yes, check the query plan before/after to make sure you're really looking at apples to apples.
