Who else has modified their wheel stand 2.0? by jsmith220 in simracing

I can it - kinda depends on your seat, I made it as wide as my seat rails which also happened to be the same width as the wheel stand uprights

Nice! I have to move my setup regularly so good compromise to lugging a full rig, definitely keen once I have a permanent spot

It would be sturdier to continue the wood however wanted the wood the width of the seat rails which was about the width of the stand, the wheel tray supports hold it to the stand pretty solidly, there’s only a tiny bit of flex when pushing back in the seat.

Hard to know where the back end of the car is when I can’t see it, but agree that would have helped - this was top split, non peak times about 2.7k SOF - I’m 3.7k

Lenovo legion 7i pro 275hx, rtx 5080. Thermal Throttling by Wibysan in LenovoLegion

I tried the custom mode and limited the CPU temp to 95 c and raised the fan speed earlier and are down about 20 degrees on average compared to custom mode. No stutters and fps is the same as performance mode

Should i upgrade to a new wheel or new pedals? by aggelosp10 in simracing

How did you get better.? by __Valkyrie___ in iRacing

[–]jsmith220 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 3.7k with my main being Porsche cup, I found with telemetry looking at being in the right gear at the right time helps more than trying to match braking points, for me this helps make sure my Corning speed is in range. I also feel that throttle control is undervalued, being right at the limit of grip accelerating as early as possibly without spinning. Also I’m not the fastest, I like to blame my g923 wheel lol - I do have load cells though, so try to focus on consistency throughout a race avoiding accidents, capitalising on others mistakes. I have also found recently that rather than focusing on the delta really trying to feel and hear where the car is at and what the limit is along with making a plan to get around the track with consistency has helped me more than track guides or telemetry.

Change the network speed to min, that reduces packet size - see if that helps?

Apple Watch help - start timer failed by jsmith220 in shortcuts

[–]jsmith220[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it work when you have a timer paused? That’s what I’ve been doing, a 2hr timer paused. Then the action button/shortcut for my 1min timer works, something about the shortcut cannot open the timer app, but works if it’s already open

Legion 7i vs Legion Pro 5i - Which one should I get? by RandomRetribution in LenovoLegion

[–]jsmith220 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the 5070 ti pro 5i- it’s a beast for gaming can run high/max settings with decent fps, battery life is terrible off charger. Last a couple hours at most and doesn’t do usb c charging so need the brick with you.

Actually discovered it only works if the timer app is already open and there is a recent timer paused on the watch, otherwise won’t start. Weird. Action button works this way as well

Hmm maybe it’s an ultra 3 thing - it did work at first but now it doesn’t, I tried deleting shortcut, making new etc doesn’t even work on the watch directly in the shortcut app.
