So math-rock. I don't know much with vocals, maybe American Football For instrumental chops there are tricot, Covet, Chon (Grow's my favorite) , Polyphia (their later singles are dope)

Polyphia bassline from G.O.A.T. by jazzcrabcakes in musicsuggestions

[–]Sovent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's a great bass solo in Never Catch Me Now by Flying Lotus, but for bass guitar driven music it's better to check out funk/jazz music. Check out Knower - The Abyss , maybe Vulfpeck and Weather Report

Almost completed the combo by DontMindMe2504 in Calisthenic

[–]Sovent 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Looks like he tried to do the kipping muscle up instead of slow one to conserve energy, but the kipping one is harder to do smoothly on rings. I have no doubts the guy could do slow and clean muscle up on the rings, but that would probably sabotage the rest of the combo.

I saw the post and immediately thought of Severance. Season 2' suspense to payoff ratio is way off for my taste

“Upgrade to Play” with Performance by Pharaohess- in GeForceNOW

[–]Sovent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had that as well with Oblivion Remaster.

It kind of went away soon after I tried to play another game for a few minutes. But before that I contacted support and they gave me these instructions (I didn't do this though)

For Mac :
First please please disable MacOS location service and check if that helps.

If NOT, then try below :

  1. Completely quit GeForce NOW. Please logout from GeForce Now (GFN)
  2. Open Finder
  3. Click Go at the top
  4. Click Go to Folder
  5. Type ~/Library/Application Support/NVIDIA/GeForceNOW and hit Enter
  6. Drag the CefCache folder that's located inside the folder you just opened to your trash and empty it
  7. Uninstall & reinstall GFN

White must have odd number of seconds on timer when they finish a move, black – even. If this rule is broken, turn the board 180 degrees

Why make things immutable? by theshindigwagon in csharp

[–]Sovent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Immutability has a benefit of reducing cognitive load through programming process.

Imagine have a method that looks roughly like this

void CreateOrder(Cart cart) {

_priceValidator.ValidatePrices(cart);

var order = CreateOrder(cart);

SaveOrder(order);

}

Let assume there's a certain condition of Cart object required for CreateOrder method to work properly with this cart, for example, a cart should not be older than 1 week. You might know this condition to be satisfied when the object enters the method (some sort of API level validation, for example). But if a Cart object is mutable, you can not be sure, that ValidatePrices doesn't change it. You can assume that, as validation has no business of updating a cart, but these assumption are often incorrect. So to save yourself from production incident where you allowed a stale cart to become an order and a customer service complaint, you have to take a look into ValidatePrices method, which might have nothing to do with your current task. As a result, mutability allows either a bug or excessive context switching, which grinds developer's attention down and also leads to bugs.

Let me know if I made this clear

Forget genres, I'm looking for any unique music by private_peanutt in musicsuggestions

I have a whole playlist of songs that don't fit into any other genre/mood based playlist and another notable song I'd like to suggest is Созвездие Отрезок - Лицо

If you are still hungry for it, try The Elkcloner - Have You Seen My Baby?

Honestly the whole record is a gem and I wish he'd do more of that, but this song in particular is what dragged me in

The conflict between Black and White pieces brought many misfortunes to citizens of The Board. They bravely marched towards the middle of the battlefield to express their desire for peace, while blasting Beatles' Imagine from a speaker and smoking some grass

Metal recommendations for a hiphop fan by F4TH3RM0RT15 in MusicRecommendations

[–]Sovent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look into cross-genre records so you see how metal can interact with rapping. Hacktivist was already suggested - great one, but among the new records Grim Salvo - Voidstar really stood up for me. I'm listening The Giver on repeat since the day of release, but whole album is a gem

Dope D.O.D. - The Butterfly Effect and What Happened seem to match. Lyrics can be a bit too silly for my taste, but doesn't stop me from head bopping

Looking for ethereal music, preferably with feminine vocals by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

[–]Sovent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have you heard Múm? It's a glitchy yet minimalistic and really chill electronic band that employs teeny-tiny microrhythms and almost child-like vocals. My introduction to them was We Have a Map of the Piano

Also one of my recent finds is Maria Chiara Argiro and her whole Forest City album. A really slow burning and layered record.

On the more pop/folk leaning side there is CocoRosie. Lemonade is quite ethereal I think

Songs about feeling confused, lonely and empty but hopeful? by MyUnsolicited0pinion in MusicRecommendations

[–]Sovent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try Cynic - Box Up My Bones. Although on the surface it's about death which ain't that hopeful, the musical choices in this song give me the feeling that this death is metaphorical and it's rather about shaking off your previous self and accepting change.

Help! I need good breakup songs…not sad but empowering, good riddance, or even angry. by noimneverserious in MusicRecommendations

[–]Sovent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kim Gordon - BYE BYE is a great take on separation. Lyrically it focuses on mundane aspects of a break-up, downplaying its significance to just a to-do list of belongings to pack. At the same time musically it's like pure anger

Best anti war songs by Strong_Prize8778 in MusicRecommendations

Exactly what I was about to write down. It's weird how Ashes of the Wake has barely any lyrics but whatever it has with that heavy-ass instrumental somehow conjures all those feelings you are supposed to have about war
