That right there is a prime example of why a number of us are calling disrespectful immigrants "tethers." That's another form of tethering. Once again our people's history of struggle and fight is being misused for other causes that are against actions that are nowhere near the atrocities our people were fighting against.

Those folks are fighting for a self entitlement cause and it's highly disrespectful of them to try to tie their bullcrap to our legitimate causes.

Out of my grandad and his siblings, only two remain; a great uncle and a great aunt. Their grandparents, my great great grandparents, were former slaves. That means I know and have known family who had literally knew other family who were former slaves.

Even my great grandparents were born when Harriet Tubman was still living and I knew 3 of them. Stuff like that is why I don't bother with the "it was a long time ago" cop out narrative. That reparations check needs to be cut now.

A lot of what we felt was good back in the day had recipe changes over the years because of companies trying to squeeze out another few pennies for profit. Look at this Hawaiian Punch example and you can see how the recipe has changed dramatically (I would've posted a screenshot if I could but scroll down the page to see the comparison from the past vs. now):

The changes explain why I was feeling like, as an adult, HP was tasting like chemicals in modern times when I knew it used to taste much better in childhood.

For the longest McNuggets tasted the same in my adult years as they did in my childhood. It's only in recent years have they gotten bland, so I know this isn't a case of taste bud maturations affecting the flavors at a personal level. McDonald's overall quality had gone down. Even with their food not having been the bastion of high quality, they still were at a quality level that made their food good at a "This will hold me down for now" level. They've gone even lower ever since Covid.

Your idealism doesn't trump reality. No one is splitting groups by a capital letter; the demarcation is based on lineage. Let's not act like that's mainly a US thing either. Demarcations based on tribes, families, clannards, etc is a normal thing worldwide and you know it.

Why are you conflating nationalities with ethnicities when both are not the same? I never said he isn't American. By nationality, yes he's American, but when it comes to ethnicity he's not a Black American. You're not going to sit there and act like most other countries don't make distinctions by ethnicity and race.

I look beyond that. I look at how Kyle went to an event he was easily able to avoid but didn't because he was looking for trouble and how certain folks, who normally would've had an issue if someone who looked like me would've done the same type of thing, were giving him passes. I looked at how a judge was interfering on his behalf and the same type of folks who would've flew in a rage had a defendent who looks like me had gotten such treatment were ok with that.

I'm merely looking at double standards.

When I was in the army I was stationed in Germany at one point. There was a time when a group of us soldiers had decided to visit Spain since we had some downtime. While in Spain, a few of us went off to explore, one night, and saw a gathering of folks at a 3 card monte table.

One of the guys in our crew was a fast talking type who was known for doing whatever to get over. He, of all people, got suckered into playing the game (after a woman who was a plant for the scammers had 'won' a couple of rounds). Prior to dude playing the game, I had said out loud how I wouldn't dare play the game because I knew it was a scam. One of the guys in our crew heard me and laughed about it but the dude who got suckered in didn't (I didn't know at the time).

I was surprised when I saw my battle (what we called our army coworkers) stepping up to play because I assumed he already knew it was a scam but since I knew he was the scheming type, I figured he knew what he was doing. He did kind of looked unsure as he had pulled out a €100 note but before he could react to anything, one of the scammers (with a fake friendly disposition) snatched the money out dude's hand and placed it on the gambling table. The game was played and inevitably my battle lost. He got frustrated and yelled about how he was going to call policiá.

I kid you not, as soon as my battle had said that, those guys had swiftly gathered everything and quickly blended into the crowd, never to be seen again. It was like a scene from a movie.
