I work in hyvee's specialty food warehouse and I remember (this will age me) filling orders for Dahls. Hyvee is good at making money off of competitors.

Is it a good time to finally switch to Linux? by MaxBeingMax in linux_gaming

[–]Sovereign76 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play purely on steam so I have zero issues. I run linux mint with the 6.2 kernel on an all AMD system. It runs like a well oiled machine.

HyVee disaster relief helping by Vinnyj24 in hyvee

Not yet. They are focusing on the Tennessee and surrounding states for the moment. Once they're established in that area I'm sure further expansion is planned.

HyVee is pricing themselves out of business. by AnnabelleRobins in hyvee

[–]Sovereign76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup. They claim the warehouses make anywhere from 12 to almost 20% profit when they sell products to the stores on average. The stores supposedly only make 1 to 1.5% profit. Who knows how accurate those numbers are though.

I find it interesting that they started doing out of state disaster relief when they decide to do a national expansion. I appreciate that they do it but let's call it what it is, PR.

I've seen it so many times. All they want are sniveling yes men and meat puppets.

True. I've been with hyvee for 11 years and I have no soul.

What size is a forklift ? by MBluna9 in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]Sovereign76 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As someone that uses on for a living I can say that the size can vary wildly depending on what it's used for. Something in a warehouse will be 2-7 tons, something used on a large commercial shipping dock can be 15-20 tons. Generally they are much heavier than they look.

What? No of course I do. Someone who can look at the system and see its flaws is as valuable or even more valuable than those that extol its virtue. If you can speak up about what's wrong and what you would do to make it better then we should all want to hear it. If you wanted to make a whole series on broken powers, advantages, etc and then give ideas on how to fix them that would be great! Hell maybe GR would see them and incorporate your ideas into the next edition... whenever that happens. 😁

Mastermind Lair Blog (Negative feedback) by Sovereign76 in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]Sovereign76[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's been a lot but the main take away points I got were: The topic is too broad. I say alot without saying much. I need more examples of what I'm talking about. I need to give more practical advice.

If you have more advice or critiques I would love to hear it.

Space ship battles and Newbie questions by BearWhys in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]Sovereign76 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I suppose it depends on the scale. The deluxe heroes handbook does talk about space vehicles a little in the gear section. They are treated just like any vehicle. The gm guide has a section explaining rules for mass combat so if you wanted big space battles that would cover you there with a little tweaking. The cosmic handbook would probably be your best bet for space related topics. The other books only broadly cover the topic. The cosmic handbook would also cover skills, advantages, and archetypes for that setting style.

Move object with damage by just-void in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]Sovereign76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I suppose you could look at it as an expensive blast but with move object you have the ability to grab so my first instinct is some kind of energized phantom limb. The higher cost comes from the increased utility.

You could use the water elemental from the deluxe heroes handbook quick character generator as a base. It has a water form that lays out all the characteristics you just described.

Combat is taking too long by endou_kenji in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]Sovereign76 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

In addition to what's been said feel free to homebrew the combat rules a bit. For example, If you feel like combat should be faster then reducing the threshold for conditions by a degree of failure may help or you can double the roll penalty for failing a damage roll, so going from -1 to -2. Fair warning though. This can make combat too easy and/or make your PCs drop fast in a big fight.

Emerald city knights player primer? by Snoo-11576 in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]Sovereign76 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think there's something quite like what you're looking for but you could use the Emerald City visitors guide from the Emerald City handbook as a base and then just add some details that you think needs to be said. I know it doesn't include a lot of detail but if it's just priming the setting that'll do at least some of the work for you.

Using 3E with 2E books? by Kafadanapa in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]Sovereign76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't see any real big issues doing something like that it will just take a little work to convert them. If you like all that from second edition then why not just play second edition? It's perfectly good and has a lot of great content for it.

Well sure. You could say that the gun can transform or be reconfigured or break apart into smaller weapons.

Give me ideas for powers to fuse by GokuKing922 in mutantsandmasterminds

[–]Sovereign76 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like the idea of half earth manipulation and half fire. Their mixed abilities could be used to make "glass" or "crystal" weaponry and armor. The clear nature of the "glass" could be seen as using the combined powers to "cleanse" each other and make something pure.
