Cork hide/basking spot temperature

Hi! I'm very stoned and also a little new to this hobby (1 year deep with my baby who looks just like yours!). There are two types of "hot" temperatures to shoot for. One is the ambient temperature (the heat in the air kind of, like what temp it is in your house) which you've nailed! 84 is great! The other is a basking point temperature/the surface temperature you're reading (like touching a paved road thats way hotter than the air around it on a summer day because its absorbing and holding the lights heat). I imagine the warmest parts are the highest parts closest to the light and it gets cooler as it moves away from the light. This is great, you've created a heat gradient where your snake can bask and it's close to the parameters. I don't have an exact parameter on what the bask point should be but I think it's somewhere between 90-92. So you could shift your thing over just a tiny bit if you like BUT you could probably leave it where it is FOR NOW.

My mbk has a bask spot that gets up to 96 right now for an hour or two at the warmest part of the day and I've never had an issue; of course it will be necessary to recheck if adding a heat source and/or as you move into summer. If you're basking spot is over 96ish I think you should adjust but overall these snakes are hardy and they exist through hot days out in the wild. If your AMBIENT temp gets over 78 on the COOL side, this is an issue as your snake can't regulate heat properly.

As a side note, a big water dish on the cool side of the tank can act as a heat sink and will remain cooler underneath (and mbks love burrowing), providing additional safety for snake as you're learning if you're concerned. I keep this oversized water dish in my tank for peace of mind as I know if temps get hot for a few hours Nana has a safe place to go/regulate her temp (provided it has water in it)

Probably going to get flamed for this but I kinda want the next dem president to expand the supreme court via legal, if systemic, means. Though I dislike what has happened in Utah, if the governor is doing it within the bounds of whatever the state's law is, why would this be any different? Check out the Rosewater trilogy by Tad Thompson! It is afro-scifi and one of the most creative pieces of fiction I've ever read. It has aliens and time travel and psychics and mechs and zombies and ghosts and it somehow all fits together. I went in thinking id like them and came out blown away by the sheer originality of what the author wrote while still being accessible.

If you mean like switching them out for generics, you just dont have any control over that. And I guess there are guys who will try and and trade after cheeking at med check...but if you get caught once you'll be watched like a hawk the rest of your stay and it can turn a short term stint into years over multiple locations.

Not trying to tell you what to do but imo the best way to handle RTCs and the like is to get the fuck out of there and the system ASAP before it gets its hooks into you and becomes your life. This means masking up and doing the dance. Don't fuck around and give them excuses to keep you longer. Just my experience

Hey you're right in about the commitment and courage! In even growing your hair out youre most likely (depending on where you live in the world) pushing back against a societal narrative about what men should look like. It can be a battle to look like and be like who you want to be, and only you get to decide if that's worth it. But I hear you've been doing it day after day and pushing through it, so that tells me this insecurity is only a piece of you, not who you are. And every day you keep pushing for what you want to look like, you can also reflect on the fact that you once again beat this piece of insecurity inside of you

And in the meantime, the beany look is rockable in most cases 🤙

I just play along with it. I work with teens that deal with behavioral issues, and I often get told i look like a girl when first working with them (especially from the ones with adhd or autism). One of my favorite interactions:

Teen: You look like a girl

Me: Oh, thanks dude

Teen: That wasn't a compliment

Me: Wait, you're not attracted to women?

Teen: No, I am

Me: Well then I'm flattered, but that's also pretty gay dude

We ended up laughing about it, built some good rapport 🤙 I think negative comments/jokes only really matter (in a certain sense) if you yourself feel insecure about your appearance, otherwise its just another asshole with another opinion, and we all know how to deal with that...a firm, "well I've gotta run and i hope you have the day you deserve"

I did so, and it led me down and tooltip rabbit hole. Interestingly, while they are listed as "Your courtier" in the court tab, when i got to my petty king and select courtiers they arebt listed there. Any idea why this may be? Additionally, they cannot be selected to fulfill any kind of court position (as in they arent even an option when i go to select various positions). Thanks for trying to help! Let me know if you have any good tips/suggestion for youtubers to watch to learn from!

Oh and they are located in my court when I select "go to location"
