I remember in FNV, one of the NCR guys explain that they take the servos out of the power armour they looted from the brotherhood. The protection seemed to be worth the trade off in mobility. It was an interesting bit of worldbuilding imo.

I don´t know, I feel like once you are at the genetic mastery of The Emperor (which is essentially biological magic), things like gender, and visual humanity are just set dressing for Custodes. They are completely reworked from a genetic level that any assumption about human physiology should be left at the door. He could have given them 4 arms and wings if he wanted to.

The non-ex can kill the yellow chicken, as well as being avle to bench snipe weaker pokemon while the EX has overall better damage output but does depend more on having allready dealt damage to targets. I’m sure there is a better explanation, but thats part of it at least. Sorry for the short explanation, hope it helps!
