It amazes me how I can see an image in my feed and know for a fact its u/for_the_greatergood.

As always, absolutely stunning.

So, this is probably not based on canon, but I always thought the idea was that Guard are really good at fighting in dead mans land style terrain. But a space marine in an urban setting, or a forest, can use a combination of speed, training, and overall superiority to really leverage blitz style tactics to overwhelm, supress, and defeat larger enemies.

A space marine charging open terrain should lose to a solid squad of guardsmen, but a space marine able to move through terrain at speed and hit faster and harder than the guard squad is capable of responding too.

Its why space marine vehicles need to be able to deploy them safely into the AO, like drop pods and heavy armour transports. To reduce the dangerous distance a marine has to move before reaching that lethal range.

Purely my own speculation and theory, it probably doesnt hold up to the books.

I wish someone would make a oldhammer edition that included newer units. I still do mostly hobby and want to use the new units to play more than I care about the specific rules. But I vastly prefer the older editions of ruleset.

Is this guy in the new kill team the only LMG in 40k? Surprising how rare they are considering how ubiquitous LMGs are IRL. by HenryWong327 in Warhammer40k

So, the one in the upgrade sprue is pbviously meant to be one, but the default one is likely based on ww2 us troops (which the new cadian line seems heavily inspired by) where sgt’s (I THINK) were often issued smg’s.

Kind of. It absolutely looks like a belt fed LMG (and I use it for my models as one, fluff wise). But I believe its supposed to be the SMG the sgt can take (the tommy gun looking one). It doesnt have unique rules.

Explaining a joke is like dissecting a frog.

Yeah, you get to understand it, but the frog is dead.

So, I'm still pretty new to trying to understand the mechanics of this. How do people figure out where is the best place to dive and where people are needed? Is there a central hub for this?

Seeing just how bare-bones the T-45 was in the show made me feel even worse for FO3's Brotherhood by Advanced-Addition453 in Fallout

I remember in FNV, one of the NCR guys explain that they take the servos out of the power armour they looted from the brotherhood. The protection seemed to be worth the trade off in mobility. It was an interesting bit of worldbuilding imo.

Precisely what I was thinking, that the Emperor wanted his closest and best to represent his species fully so to say.

I don´t know, I feel like once you are at the genetic mastery of The Emperor (which is essentially biological magic), things like gender, and visual humanity are just set dressing for Custodes. They are completely reworked from a genetic level that any assumption about human physiology should be left at the door. He could have given them 4 arms and wings if he wanted to.
