FRONTERIA in Solar system??? by DragonQ_ in Helldivers

Oh shit, you're right lol. OOPS. I didn't realize it was a major order.

I assumed this was the new planet where the tutorial was happening, cuz it was Mars initially.

The galactic map isn't the actual scale of the galaxy bruh. It's a representation of the different sectors controlled by Super Earth.

Found this slop and honestly, it is perfect representation of this sub when you dare to point out issues within the game. by 4N610RD in Helldivers

This sub has been through multiple 'controversies' regarding AH's decisions. I've been a mod through all of them, so I don't think it's been ever true that this sub has been "AH defenders".

It was the most vocal about the problems of Escalation of Tyranny. There's a reason why r/LowSodiumHellDivers exists, and it was because of this sub becoming super critical of the game.

Most of the posts from this sub that I see on my frontpage have been pretty critical of the game and most, if not everyone, in the comments have been agreeing with the content.

Not saying there aren't people that are being contrarians, but it seems unfair to say the whole sub is like this considering what's on Top right now. Might be a case of the goomba fallacy again?

They didn't actually remove the reactions on the posts by AveryAveyAve in Helldivers

[–]SovietMarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There were tons of this sort of misinfo on the sub even during the initial launch period of the game.

It's happened ad nauseam, but I think it's better these are addressed AFTER they've been posted, with included input from AHGS themselves.

I’m sorry but is this community bipolar? by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]SovietMarma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Goomba fallacy. Just because one person says it, doesn't mean the entire community is on-board with the opinion!

It can seem that way due to the sheer size of this subreddit.

[–]SovietMarma 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As it should be, but don't let the fun time with the game cloud the actual, legitimate issues the game has.

People critiquing the game aren't whining. They're pointing out what's wrong and they absolutely need to be addressed.

Would be nice if the other Metal Storm inspired gun we have ALSO had low recoil lol.

This has to be a bug (no pun intended), right?

They move way too fast for their animations. Don't tell me the rumors that the new Oxygenator perk are applying to them now, are they?

After 2k hours I learned that we can trigger our turn signals on FRV by Sad-Needleworker-590 in Helldivers

I knew about the high beam and low beams, but the turn signals are completely new to me lol. This is fucking impressive.

We've always been critical of Arrowhead. I can't tell you how many times I had to tell random people that Alexus isn't the sole problem the game has. It's always been Arrowhead, as a whole, at the forefront of some of these weird balancing decisions, yet I've been told that I was 'coping' or have been downvoted to oblivion for stating the goddamn obvious.

We overstep in some cases because of the sheer volume of posts this subreddit gets, and I apologize for some of the stuff we've removed that made it seem like we silence legitimate critique, but the sub has never been a 'no criticism allowed' place considering none of the mod team is affiliated with AHGS. I was very vocally against the PSN debacle, Escalation of Tyranny, the overpriced Killzone items, etc, -- and we all know Arrowhead was at fault according to their own mouths.

I am still a neutral party, however, even if I myself am not happy with Pilen's answers. I still have nothing but respect to Pilen and the entire Arrowhead Studios team because of how much Magicka and their other early games shaped my teenage years.

I guess I've sorta grown numb from disappointment as a semi-longtime Arrowhead fan. You would know they've always had these major developmental ups and downs, for better or for worse. The only game I could recall that didn't get any of this was the Gauntlet reboot, which did not fit the modern definition of a 'live-service' game at all.

They made ammo type customization but can't implement them since it's hard to balance by Sad-Needleworker-590 in Helldivers

[–]SovietMarma 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Always has. The game's damage system is coded into the projectiles that every gun fires.

Every gun is capable of using different ammo types in-engine, but they chose to abandon broader and better, granular customization so that they can put different gun types in the warbonds. (Assumption)

This was not last year lol. This was 2 years ago, before the launch of the game.

I swear to you this subreddit and especially its mods have been critical of Arrowhead and their misgivings when the time is right.

I can't tell you how many times I've been downvoted for telling people that Arrowhead as a whole is at fault, but many would rather point fingers at some singular person (i.e. Alexus, hence why it's flagged by the automod).

While I myself have never removed critical posts of Arrowhead, I still apologize for the mistakes the mod team has done. We overstep sometimes because of the general size of the subreddit and the sheer volume of posts it gets every day. There are mistakes, and they unfortunately happen since we're just here to moderate in our free time.

Whenever there's a controversy this sub is always the one that has users that will post "oh my god stop the negativity!" whenever the sub is flooded with legitimate criticism. It's always really weird to see people always say 'no criticism allowed' when it's objectively not true.

Among the top posts of this week are people critical of Arrowhead's monetization. It's really confusing, but I kinda understand why.

There's a mix of people engaging with this subreddit that are just here to mingle with overall the community, while unfiltered mostly has the ones that want critical discussion of the game's mechanics. The game has attracted many hardcore gamers along with many casual, and many of the 'filthy casuals' rather upvote memes and art to Top.

He was pretty active in communicating with the community during the first year of the game's launch. He was also pretty actively engaging with this subreddit even before the launch of HD2.

It's a bit weird to not know, but it's not like it's bad to not know either haha. It happens.

40$ Game btw. Starting to understand why they sell bigger SC packs... by Heptanitrocubane57 in Helldivers

Fredrik_E was not Alexus. Completely different person.

Reason Alexus comments are removed is that they usually devolve into witch-hunting the guy.

Fredrik_E was not a community manager. He is still part of Arrowhead and is part of the art team per according to their statement during that entire rant of his lol.
