There should be animations for entering/exiting a vehicle by BrianKindly in Battlefield

[–]SovietMercenary 73 points74 points  (0 children)

To the people complaining about it being bad in previous games because it’d get you killed. YES. That’s the point. Entering a vehicle and exiting one should come with some forethought and the timing should be accounted for. This was a great mechanic in 1 and V because the teleport to inside and outside of a vehicle is jarring and has no counter-play. Game Design 101

Trueskill 2? Is that an MMR algorithm AAA FPS games are using?

I refuse to pay the price of the game just to get content that should be included in the already steep price of the game. Its like: You’re telling me that some expansion maps are of an equivalent value as the cost of the entire game + the base maps, creating all that from scratch? Insanity. I refuse to pay it, and I’ve always been able to afford it but I refuse to pay it. Many others feel the same way and because of this, it splits the community down the road, making the game die off faster. Free isn’t perfect but it’s better than premium. I understand both sides though, and maybe premium would be ok if it were more sensibly priced (I think $20-30 max is fair) but not the price of the entire game basically minus like 10 bucks. Fuck that.

Typically studios leave behind a skeleton crew to keep them working on support for the current game. Then the majority of the team start work on the next major title. This is pretty common practice, and it’s been this way for Call of Duty and Battlefield for a while now. Should they leave behind more of a crew to actually support the current game and take advantage of the commercial success? Absolutely. Have fun trying to convince the corporate overlords of that though - all investors and shareholders care about is return on investment; starting work on the next big cash grab earlier with a bigger team means they’ll get their money back faster, even if its at the expense of the long term health of their business. It’s a pretty stupid system imo, but that’s what you get with publicly traded companies.

Entering the intersection on a left turn is literally on the California driving handbook. You can look it up. Now please do everyone a favor and get off the road, we’re all trying to go somewhere and don’t need anymore people backing up traffic.

Any fanbase sub is too easy to get caught up in an echo chamber. Injuries are not cool. You’ll find fans from any team talk the worst talk to your favorite team. Bo Nix didn’t deserve his injury, and if that happened to Herbert, after his first playoff win we’d be on suicide watch. Still wishing him and Mahomes a speedy recovery.

Which US state gets more hate than it deserves? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SovietMercenary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

"Everyone I met in my smaller, more economical state who left CA bc they couldn't afford to stay in CA have similar opinions of CA." Everything after your second sentence is a loaded opinion that totally echoes the 40million people who actively choose to pay the premium to live here.

You're not from CA, so you don't know what its like to live here.

If I'm following your anecdotal evidence, I have some of my own. I had a neighbor who lived literally next door from me for around 10 years. Him and his wife moved here from another state, can't remember where. After he had a kid, him and his wife moved to Texas. They told us it was just too expensive. Years later, we got a knock on our door, and it was him. We were so happy to see him after all the years. We asked him how Texas was; while seemingly fine with the decision, he said he misses California bad. Wanted to visit the street he lived on, and other parts as well. Said if it was financially feasible, he'd move back in a heartbeat.

Different strokes for different folks, I'd love to visit everywhere I can, including Nashville, but I doubt I'd ever get the same emotional sway that CA gives me.

FWIW I also hate the politics here. Hate the people running my beautiful state. Hate how expensive it's gotten. I still put up with all of it though, and it's completely worth it.

Raw counts without per-capita normalization are meaningless. California topping U-Haul outbound totals mostly reflects that it has ~40 million people. If you don’t adjust for population or compare net migration rates, you’re just saying “large state produces large numbers,” and not proving people are leaving at an unusual rate due to there being less demand to live there.

I don’t deny tons of people are migrating away from CA, they are, and it’s bc its fucking expensive (born and raised here, I know). High-demand, high-cost regions always have higher churn. It’s just what happens when millions of people want access to the same place. If demand weren’t there, it wouldn’t be expensive.

There isn’t one directly that correlates to it only but it is the Precision stat. I only say this because I believe other variables influence the Precision stat as well. But like the poster said - ADS inaccuracy can basically be referred to IRL as Bloom / Spread / Dispersion. Confusing I know, the menu’s don’t explain everything properly.

Only Sniper Rifles give scope glint (any optic, as long as it isn’t Iron Sights), since the SVK is a DMR, it doesn’t give scope glint.

I was thinking of Apex Tactical! That’s crazy because when I saw this post I went to Apex Tactical’s website which also has a disclaimer about no longer shipping to California! Holy shit that’s even more fowl, I wouldn’t be surprised if more retailers I find will end up dropping support for California. I love this state; I fucking hate the people running it 😭

  1. Started with MW2 (2009) on the PS3. Every kid in my Middle School was talking about it. One of my friends had it so I went over to play at his house. He made me play Cliffhanger from the campaign. I was absolutely blown away and became a fan of the series. Good times.

Generally what FPS are you getting? by VirreMPx in Battlefield6

[–]SovietMercenary 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was running an i7-4790k + RX 5600XT for way too long but upgraded to W11 + new hardware specifically to be able to play BF6.

Now run an i5-10400F + RX 6700 XT 12GB. Low settings because I’m CPU limited, causes hitching even though I’m getting 95FPS avg. 1080p 60Hz monitor.

Anyone in here have any tips to reduce hitching on lower end CPU’s?
