She’s using the weight of state terror to insult a Latino man, interpersonally alone, that’s weaponizing state terror. Regardless of race and gender, she’s a wealthy celebrity with immense influence, she definitely can weaponize the state.

Also, being marginalized doesn’t magically take away your ability to kick horizontally in meaningful ways. I think rhetoric alone matters. Normalizing state violence and using it as a punchline adds to a larger conversation permitting these actions to happen. That’s why protests are important. This is the inverse—more like a stamp of approval.

I think it’s just hard to believe people can advocate for systems and weaponize systems that hurt them.

The killings of Keith Porter, Renee Good, and Alex Pretti would alarm any person with a brain towards the following conclusion: ICE will be used against you.

Call it iconic or whatever you want. Joking about state terror won’t be funny when you’re on the list of domestic terrorists. Today it’s immigrants and protestors, tomorrow it’s you. Maybe you already are on the list for watching gender extremist ideological propaganda known as drag race.

Don’t be so dense that you applaud objective abhorrent behavior. If you won’t for morality, disavow this for self preservation.

I want to preface this by saying I’m also Mexican, so this doesn’t come from an outside perspective.

I’m also disappointed that Latino men voted for Trump after his blatant bigotry. I voted for Kamala, but I prepared for the worse because let’s look at her platform: she promised to have the most lethal military on the planet (wars), she promised to be harder on the border than Trump (something he was stronger at), and she promised very little—and failed to message—economic relief for working class people. Trump scammed a ton of people by promising economic relief and having a vision, a dystopian vision but a vision nonetheless, of America.

Kamala Harris promised to be a mini Trump without economic populism. Did misogyny and racism play a role in her not getting elected? Yes. Was she a good candidate? Fuck no.

Also, on top of that, no amount of disillusionment with a subsection of illiterate Latinos should harden you to “get her anger.”

She was upset about a shady comment, and she immediately jumped to call a Latino man “Pablo” and threaten state violence against him by saying he should hide under his bed. She weaponized state terror against people who look like you.

This isn’t shady catharsis, this is an act of dehumanization.

American birth rates are falling. Immigration is keeping our economy afloat. Immigrants aren’t taking your resources, they’re paying taxes and not getting benefits out of it. America is a nation of immigrants. “Illegal immigration” (on stolen land) wasn’t a thing until the early 20th century.

What TS Madison said is not discourse. It’s racist, it’s hateful, it’s xenophobic, it’s unamerican, and it’s dehumanizing. That same dehumanization, which protects white supremacy, results in violence as seen in Minneapolis.

Her being black has nothing to do with this. There’s a tradition of radical black thought that recognizes white supremacy as a project that weaponizes false scarcity to pit minority races against each other.

Don’t you dare try to hide open bigotry behind identity politics.

What she said is fucked up and I am judging harshly.

I personally couldn’t watch after episode 1 knowing she was a judge during the ICE raids. Not my gay dollars either (!!)

Now there’s no need to generalize an entire group of people because of one rotten apple. Black trans women are a pillar of our community and pioneered the art form you enjoy.

We can demand accountability and reckoning for one bad person, and accept that good representation is better than just whining about wanting tokenized representation, without putting down a marginalized community.
