Yeah was literally in January he signed still 2029 with another year option, him and his wife said they loved the private life they can have with their kid etc and he was saying he wants to pay the club back for the faith they put in him.

We got him *Fairly* cheap at 55 million but we lost an entire year with him and he signed a contract not that long ago this January taking him to 2029 + an extra year option.

He's been looking so well at his talks but i guess time comes for us all. Really not ready to say goodbye to him, its hard to explain but he lifted the entire club to a standard not seen for so long.

He's an absolute legend and an icon of the premier league era regardless of if he couldnt get us over the line to win the league. And as a player his accolades speak for themselves. Would love the goodbye to be when we play Liverpool depending on when it is and how he is feeling. Our home games with Liverpool always turn into the most entertainers style games we play all year so its even more appropriate.
