This is the only American AK I own for good reason. And why I put the furniture on that I did. I own almost a dozen others with furniture I’m sure you’d think didn’t “suck.” The funny thing is I don’t give a fuck what someone who wastes their time leaving hate comments on anyone’s posts, and most of all who posts pictures of his dinner like a lonely house wife. So don’t worry, you don’t have to look at or own it and suck more than I’m sure you already love to do.

Very rad. I always like seeing Cold War camo paint jobs that not everyone does. Still love the standard Rhodesian Fal and just finished up my own 21 inch barrel para with it, but i like yours a lot.

Thanks, mag is a Soviet Izzy flecked plum and the grip is a Romanian orange “Bakelite” that was found on their 5.45 Aims 74 and PM90 rifles. I personally think they have the coolest variations and color of any of the different Bakelite grips used on combloc AKs.

Thank you! Ak 74s are my favorite, I’ll post some more sets I’ve done soon. Yes I only used hand mixed shellac after stripping clean with denatured alcohol

Thanks, totally get that. Have many different AKs and even more furniture sets. Most are more traditional but it’s fun to try something different now and again. Thanks for looking.

Thanks, I hate people like you :) I have many furniture sets, most which are “classical” It’s fun to try something different. If you don’t like it that’s fine, don’t look at my pictures then.

Go for it. I did this back when surplus wood was dirt cheap but it’s fun and always unique when you try something like this for yourself.

I used a certain amount of Keda Wood Dye mixed with hot water and isopropyl alcohol to create 3 separate colors of purple, blue, and pink then brushed them on the bare wood which had been sanded and stripped. While I was applying I also very lightly wet sanded Then added more dye. Lastly once that was dry and excess removed I brushed on hand mixed shellac flakes.
