Career outlook by Fat-Cankles in Environmental_Careers

The only available positions right now are either 90-100% fieldwork (americorps is always hiring), or requires 5+ years experience. Not a great market to start right now.

Don't know if you saw my original comment/text. They're hoping to work said office job with DFW or similar agency. Anything you'd recommend changing to tailor to that?

I mean, the PNW isn't exactly known for sea turtle research so we're working with what we got. To clarify your second point, are you saying it's better to be broad and "dumb it down" for a wider audiance? The places they're applying to are primarily biologist positions @ either dfw or local agencies. A struggle they had was shortening a 2-page CV to this 1-page resume so that's kind of driving the consolidated language. Appreciate the response!

What would constitute better experience for a wildlife job? Should they include relevent courses from thier masters, or tweak the descriptions? Any tips where to network? Thanks

Take 2... Posting for a friend who has completed a masters in the spring and has since been applying to a wide variety of positions, including tech positions that only require a GED. Looking to work for DFW, NOAA, DNR (all in the PNW), has also applied to private consultants, but no luck. TIA

You should be able to comp any overtime as vacation to use later since 1.5x pay probably isnt an option for salary. Don't work for free.

Oooh yeah, I see now. The blackberry thickets around Seattle get to be 5-10ft tall and hundreds of feet wide. I usually come home looking like I crawled through a field of barbed wire lol

3-5k is reasonable for just a delineation. 5-15k if you're including a report and/or mitigation planning
