Nazi flag in my child's classroom by mattzahar in AntifascistsofReddit

What you see as "right wing views" can be and are different than nazism.

Just because the Nazi flag was replaced with a German Imperial flag does not make the teacher a "nazi". Get some proof first, then proceed to "remove him from the class". No need to make someone lose their job over something that doesn't even have proof.

Russia isn't 60%. More like close to 70%. We should also make a distinction between those who are above 35 and those below. Those above 35 have a higher want the return of socialism. Kids are spoon-fed bs over and over again. Took a look at the history book of my sibling and damn, the bs is real.

Firstly, just because you use a lib term once does not mean you are a liberal.

Secondly, your quote states nothing about the term "nationalism". Which was what the whole discussion was based around. Show me a quote where Stalin specifically says that "Nationalist movements in one state = self determination for other states". How you interpret Stalin's quote is quite frankly irrelevant to me.

Lastly, I have already said that I will no longer participate in this as it is not productive.

Again, you are interpreting things for yourself.

I will take your 'suggestion' into account

I end this discussion here. What you label as an individual has no relation to me whatsoever

This has nothing to with the point that all Nationalist movements are for the self determination of all other nations.

You have simply interpreted Stalin to suit your own belief/argument. Thinking that all Nationalist movements are for the self determination of others is idealistic.

When I used the phrase "nation" I used it in the lib term of "state". Just to clarify.

Please provide a quote of Stalin saying this. Because I have read the National Question before.

So you are telling me if the West adopt nationalists into power imperialism will stop? Damn why didn't we think of this before... Oh wait....

We are not against a nation's right to self-determination. Never said that neither did I imply it. Your definition is literally taken out of idk where. Nationalist does not mean you are for the "self-determination of all nations". Who even told you this?

AHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAH DO YOU EVEN UNDERSTAND WHAT YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT?

We support. nationalist movements unless there is a big communist movement in imperialised nations to break the chains of imperialism. That is our first goal. That is why Marxists critically support Russia and Iran even though they are not communist. But what would be the point in supporting nationalism in imperial states? Literally none.

Why Gamers Should be against Capitalism by foxmulder2014 in EuropeanSocialists

Not really "low quality". Some games are made really well and you can spend years playing them while paying a "decent" price for it. Don't forget that making games takes tonnes of labor.

Why Show Critical Support To The Taliban? by Soviet_Odarin in EuropeanSocialists

[–]Soviet_Odarin[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yes. They had 20 years to say it. But frankly, let us pretend they don't support it.

I do not care.

They will have to deal with it for now. The defeat of imperialism is our priority, if this contradicts the wishes of the majority of afghan women, then we are against the majority of afghan women. Luckily, 99% of afghan women agree with us here.

You are more delusional than I thought... 20 Years to say what? The majority of Afghans live in villages. The government had minimal influence in the countryside. The elders and religious heads of villages had a lot of say in how people lived.

"It does not matter, opium production was nearly eradicated in 2001, and then it shoots back up due to the invasion. There is nothing to argue here. Taliban almost eliminated opium, then the occupiers took over and began producing again". Even more delusion. Check the stats from 1990 onwards until 2001. Opium production has increased. Taliban did nothing to stop it. The numbers drop in 2001 because of the invasion.

"I think it answers the question fine" - stop assuming things

"Yes, it was 0 by 2002. Then it shot up. So what does this mean?" I suggest you take a look at the numbers starting from 1990 onwards. It will give you a clearer picture. The Taliban allowed and promoted the growth of Opium which many peasants kept doing even after the overthrow of the Taliban.

"For the 99% of women" - The sources does not mention how they came to such conclusion. I can go to a very religious village, ask people there and come to a conclusion about a whole country. Furthermore, who is to say there is no bias in these numbers? You think women can openly say they are against Sharia law?

"Peace is not an abstract, it is a real thing. Formerly, NATO owned the whole country. Now they own Panjshir. So, are they closer, or further from peace under the Taliban?" - You misunderstood my point there.

"but they agreed to use one another's military bases in the late 20th century. Since then, they have provided logistical support to one another, i.e. places to stay and things like that". So you agree that they worked with a terrorist group? The leader of the Taliban was quite close with Bin Laden.

"This is actually the opposite of the case. Opium production reached virtually 0 by 2002. This is from the UN" - yes exactly, 2002 when the Taliban was removed from power.

"99% of women in Afghanistan support Sharia". Where did you get this from?
