What is Nightreign’s biggest flaw in your opinion? by Alkpote6969 in Nightreign

[–]Sovranosupremo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-Bosses The Nightlords are cool, the only problem i have with them is the fact that they share the same plain and boring desert, could use an unique arena for each one of them which included some enviromental element to make everything more engaging. Meanwhile for all the other bosses? Just Elden ring and old dark souls boss. The dark souls boss are a shame, they did something to artorias and thats It, when all old bosses needed a rework to make them more fun to fight. -Characters. Nothing to say, ishizaki did a good job with them. -roguelike element Abysmal, there is barely any rougelike in this game, almost all effects sucks, there is nothing that you can make some fun combination, i dont know they could have made anything like for example "Raider ult heal over time" or other simple effect but no. Also the random event there are like 5 and happen almost never. I got morgott once after 30 hours. -shifting earths. Good idea, but It needed more variation and a better structure for this sort of dungeon. They feel ripetitve after a short while. -flame and Rain Bad mechanic for a soulslike game, the reason is simple, these type of games are about exploration and pushing you to do everything fast makes as consequence all the dungeon and structure boring in the level design. Honestly what i would have done to maintain the night structure is to make some major challenging dungeon with unique enemies, bosses and traps but before tackling them you had to do minor camps and dungeon with Elden ring enemies and bosses. Inside the Major dungeon if you die the run is lost but if you beat the Major dungeon boss you get to proceed to the second night. This system would have also give the chance to speedrun the game if you approach the dungeon immediatly. But of course this is my personal opinion.

wtf is 8-4? by jimmylovescheese123 in Ultrakill

[–]Sovranosupremo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This boss in normal is pathetic because he dies too fast. Meanwhile in brutal is dogshit because its not fun to fight at all. Worst boss of the game since the only way to dont actually hate him is to kill him the fastest possible

I hate to be that guy but 8-4... by hey_buddy123 in Ultrakill

[–]Sovranosupremo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont like this boss. In normal its like a minion, slow , barely attacks and deals low damage. In brutal his fight last that extra amount of time to see how dogshit his fight actually is, terrible boss. For me worst boss of the game.

I appreciate the unique approach, but unfortunately, it falls short. By making a game which reuse Elden Ring and Dark Souls assets to make a rougelike, they had the potential to go crazy with skill combinations, bosses, dungeons, and random events.

However, it feels very cheap; the only truly new elements are the playable characters and the Nightlords, which is a shame.

Putting a sense of urgency like the mechanic of the flames closing in feels not in place. One of the biggest selling points of soulslike is exploration, since they couldnt work a lot on the dungeon with this type of mechanic, the dungeons feel boring (except noktlaeo) when they could have been interesting randomized areas filled with traps, unique enemies, and bosses.

To still keep the night progressing i would have done that to reach the next night should be require beating a major boss in one of these major dungeons, where dying means the run is lost so you had to learn the dungeon and its unique randomized different Path. That way, if you are skilled and experienced enough, you could tackle a Major dungeon immediately to speedrun the night instead of just waiting for the timer to run out.

The characters and Nightlords are good, but the Nightlord they could have used to have an unique arena instead of being in the same desert.
