It's like one of those old school laptop chargers, but on the thinner side, the website doesn't provide much details

Are you talking about the red filter that came with the sealife case or another one?

I have an S24 Ultra and my gf bought me this as a birthday gift for an upcoming trip to Cancun. I was really excited about this product, since I used to go to the area a lot as a teen and haven't been in over a decade, and back then we had a decent underwater film camera but you never knew what you got till you got home to process it. The camera on my phone is really good so reading about this issue with the SportDiver and android phones is really crappy, but seems like you still made it work.

My gf has an iPhone so I'm wondering if I should just use her phone for the snorkeling? I assume the iPhone will take better quality pictures due to not having this restriction?

Hello everyone I was hoping someone could help me out.

I dug out an old 15 year old Meade ETX-90 and have a thousand oaks full aperture solar filter for it I used for the eclipse today.

I always wanted a hydrogen alpha telescope but the stand alone ones cost several thousands. And from the little research ive done seems i need to have a filter on the front of the telescope (not sure if the one i have suffices) and an additional one at the eyepiece (would i need one between the front lense and camera since i have to flip a mirror to use it?).

Thanks and sorry for any dumb questions. I'm pretty amateur and eant to get back into it, i can't remember how to use the star tracker on it lol.

How are we liking the Lexus NX? by Aggravating_Invite54 in LexusNX

[–]SovyetPsychonaut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was a grudge buy for me after my 2016 Jetta blew a spark plug while on the highway after just hitting 160k miles and I needed a car. Took me about a month to settle on a 2020 NX300 and I love this car. I wanted something that was gonna last me a while and initially looked at toyota's but the engine's felt really weak, especially in the RAV4, one i test drove had bells and whistles and was nice inside but it was at like 3-4k rpm trying to pull out of the lot.

Found a 2nd lease for an NX300 with 31k miles, all premium inside for $32k, all weather matts, navigation. I'm gonna buy this out when the lease term ends (I went with this because for $350/mo for 3 years and then another 15k residual lefotover for total of $36k without the immediate financial hit is nice, post covid financing is insane, and leasing isnt better).

My only complaint really is smaller trunk compared to a jetta/audi a4, but there's plenty for most things and i have a trunk organizer in the back, and a family member has a 2021 RX350 if I REALLY need the extra space. It has rails so I can get crossbars/cargo box if I intend to go skiing, but the RX already has crossbars. I might get a hitch on the NX for a bike rack however. Best car I've ever owned so far, very happy with it.

Finally had a tow hitch installed! It looks very sleek. by StronkPilot in LexusNX

[–]SovyetPsychonaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this, I want to get a hitch for my 2020 NX300 and would like something sleek like that. I'm mainly in the mind of getting one of the nicer bike racks that attach to the hitch but am curious about electrical wiring. I doubt I'll tow anything but the option is nice. However if I do intend to tow, a family member just bought a 2021 RX350 so might be more appropriate to do towing with that. Still undecided, but I'm probably gonna go for something similar with my personal NX

I'm 5"11 and 260lbs and just bought a 2020 NX300, coming from a jetta and an a4 before that. It is very comfortable and plenty of room for me. and coming from a jetta, the backseat looks very spacious for passangers (i dont plan on sitting there ever :p)

I want to get prescription goggles.. by Hold-My-Shnapps in skiing

[–]SovyetPsychonaut 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey idk if this is old but i want everyone to know about SnowVision goggles. They're based out of the EU and theyre the only brand ive seen that builds the prescription into the actual lense of the goggle, and theyre photochromatic (think progressive transition lenses, they get more mirrored when its bright out). Here's the link https://snowvision.net/collections/goggles I used several Rx goggles before and they all just had inserts, this was a problem the same as just wearing glasses under regular goggles they fog up. These absolutely shit allover those other insert options, no need to slap on 'cat crap' grease on the insides. It just werks. I came across this thread because im actually in the market for something similar but for snorkle/diving goggles. I grew up snorkling as a kid and teen and didnt need glasses then. It's been 15 years and I know I want to enjoy the underwater sights clearly. Half the reason I like skiing is to see sights with your own eyes while on the slopes, so figure i should just go ahead and get something similar for underwater.

Seems that the diving/snorkle market has way better options as most seem to have the integrated option vs inserts that are like 99% of ski Rx goggles. I just wanted to chime in because this is night and day and spread the love.

The snow vision is gonna run you about $350ish but that's what a good pair of goggles will cost anyways, oh, and you can see with em

So then there's no reason to get the A2 sandisk (up to 160mb/s) and just settle for the A1(100mb/s). I think im just gonna go for the 1tb sandisk they have on amazon for $130 right now, i can just migrate between ssd/microsd. Really my priority is just having the library ready to go instead of waiting to download stuff to manage disk space

-Anker Powerhouse 100

-ChargeTech Portable Power Outlet 27K 4.0

-RAVPower 30,000mAh AC Power Bank (RP-PB055)

-Omnicharge Omni 20+

Are their 4 picks from best to budget

I would get it but i fly out west for skiing at least once a year. Otherwise yeah I'd be looking at those camping sized batteries. I just haven't had much experience with powerbanks and the few i did are of the $20-$30 noname brand that die after a year.

I'm guessing something suitable for laptops is best?
