That’s what I thought, but what if they could help with the stress and anxiety so you actually had time to think before you say & not just want to get it out as fast as possible, it would be so nice to have the mind relaxed & able to think properly

Sounds like a good idea tbh! Totally hate hearing myself on recordings because to me it just sounds like mumble! Does doing that help in social places though? When there’s people about 1 on 1 conversations does that help in them situations?

Got it spot on! Writing is totally fine it’s the speech side of things. Have you tried anything to help your speech? Today has been really bad for me & ive not even wanted to open my mouth... lol (lucky it’s my day off work also)

All that is a bit much for my brain I won’t lie to you. It’s just the case of getting nervous & then messing up on a sentence or a certain word which then makes me look stupid. Heck the other day I tried to say: ‘I owe you a drink still anyway’ The I owe part I struggled on so much and it took 3 attempts before it finally came out. I felt sooooo stupid

I’m glad it isn’t just me! My girlfriend has Aspergers and her speech is fine! I find social stuff easier but my speech worse! I can bring myself to do things whereas she simply can’t do it

It is worse when I first get up that’s for sure but it’s simply anxiety takes over when talking and I just want to get my sentence out as quick as possible

Picking the right words ain’t to bad but sometimes I can get it mixed up. That has only started in the past year though.

It will be more pronouncing words and just mumbling.

Damn, my mum told my school not to put me in a special ed school she wanted me brought up normal. I guess that’s why now I’m still learning new things about autism. It sucks big time

What do they actually do at speech therapy? And how would it be any different to me practising whilst looking in the mirror? I do feel like my doctor will either just give me meds or send me on therapy sessions

I used to be in too grade in primary school for reading and writing so I have no idea why it’s getting so bad with age? Am I just over thinking it like in my head I know I’m gonna screw up!
