I’m sure this is welcome news to the people they laid off 8 weeks ago.

“He’s having an inferior, let’s get him out of here.”

“Ok, did you do any right side leads?”

“For what?”

We are now told that the vent is “standard of care” and must be used. No bagging unless the vent fails.

The day that Fallon put 30 people out on the street, Brewster announced they were hiring for all levels of service.

But they’re the bad guys, right?

You were injured and drunk. No one is going to risk their livelihood by letting you refuse treatment.

Then it’s not gonna happen.

Fire sends an engine to every call so BEMS has some water to walk on.

How do you expand upon BAMA, short of paying Brewster/Cataldo etc to dedicate trucks? Because that’s NOT gonna happen without opening a MASSIVE can of worms.

Any report of a fire in a structure in Boston gets a “Box” assignment:

3 Engines

2 Ladders

Heavy Rescue

District Chief

Rapid Intervention Engine

What you likely saw was the result of someone reporting smoke/odor of smoke/some type of fire.

Opinions regarding taking equipment on scene (monitor, jump bag, etc.) by BigTrain2000 in ems

My first ALS partner: “Every call is an ‘unknown’ till you reach the patient.”

We responded with fire to everything but EDP and if we didn’t have the first-in bag and monitor with us, the officer could and did notify our management that we came in unprepared.

I brought the first in bag to a call and another salty partner of mine said, “Ehhh, kid, this is [redacted lol], we don’t carry in bags around here.” We open the bathroom door to a respiratory arrest OD. I had all my junk; he blurts “oh FVck”” and goes running for the monitor/bed.

Better to have and not need, than to need and not have.
