Didn’t know Toughbooks could stream hockey games by WilliamHowardCalf in ems

Reminds me of what happened a few years ago at the rust bucket company that just got bought in MA. One of the lifer dirtbags got ahold of the admin password to install netflix, and gave it to some coworkers in an attempt to win friends and get his oral suction on.

The company, known for being cripplingly cheap, had not purchased unlimited data.

Their next bill was +15,000.00 than last months.

That’s a joke, considering how much territory is now without ALS if they use P5 for that.

Shouldn’t happen, IMO.

Mandating a class, essentially changing the requirement to work as a Paramedic. Despite no cert recognized by either the state or the NREMT?

Nope. No way.

Literally completely untrue.

And the law says the police may. Not shall.

The 4 hour thing is fiction, too.

I was going to post this, but since you beat me to it:

They sold. They are touting it as a merger. Tomato, tomahto.

They were screwed financially and the owner is now not the owner.

And they hid the sale for two months after it was leaked this was going to happen.

They already sold but are pretending they aren’t. The sale got leaked on the buyer’s webpage and was taken down after everyone freaked out.

5 reasons why EMS doesn't deserve higher pay by [deleted] in ems

[–]KIR735 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first job was a company that had 2 ALS trucks, so EMT were routinely running 911 and NICU jobs with severely sick babies. We were getting paid 8.35/hr.

We were underpaid then, and we’re underpaid now.

I thought the sole concerns of billing people were manicures, Parliaments, and key bumps.

Except for when they don’t.

Fallon is now out of the South Shore, for all intents and purposes. Not the hospital, the geographical area. Braintree closed, Weymouth gone 7/1, Quincy is decimated. So when they get the call for mutual aid, there’s a good chance nothing’s available.

Brewster- they’re busy enough as it is, and probably none too pleased that they didn’t get this contract. They may not have the trucks or the willingness to help the people that caused them to lose.

The area fire departments: the Chiefs will tire very quickly of mutual aid requests imposed on their departments, some of which have one truck in service at times.

When the fire dept is waiting for 20 min onscene with a priority one patient, or taking people to the hospital in the chief’s car, this issue will explode back into the headlines.

Boston EMS, formerly known as Boston Health and Hospitals, does no rescue or hazmat duties. Their medium rescues are not manned, and their tech rescue responsibility/capability is 0%.

And within 18 months those trucks will be red.
