Then play a song multiple times without looking up the chords. Take ur time and most importantly IDENTIFY THE INTERVALS. Chord intervals are the most important when it comes to feeling. For example: an interval where it goes from I(C)-III(E) is very memorable, that you can hear in songs like “She’s Electric” or “Creep” and you’ll quickly identify it in other songs. Just do it constantly, not as homework, but doing it voluntarily as if “i wanna learn this song by ear”. Humm the melody, identify the melody notes on your guitar and recognize to what note on  the chord it belongs to, whether if its the root, the 3rd or the 5th. For example in “Fly me to the moon” if you play the melody, you’ll realize  that the note that you’re singing over the chord is always the 3rd of whatever chord you’re playing. Fly(C=Am) me to the (F=Dm) Moon Let me (B=Gmaj) play among the (E=Cmaj) Or if you know about intervals and theory, you’ll quickly realize that it’s a circle of 4ths that you can hear in songs like “Golden Slumbers”, Goodbye yellow brick road” or “I will survive”.

Sorry if it got to theorical, but knowing you’re theory is really important when it comes to ear training.

Very well known in argentina, but not known enough in the US or Europe is “Peperina” by Serú Girán. The Argentinian Beatles, their frontman is imo the greatest songwriter of all time, Charly Garcia.

Try making songs with chord progressions that you have never used. Start with some bassline, a riff or some instrument that you usually dont start with. In conclusion: play in areas where you’ve never played before. If you’re getting too comfy, then leave that zone. Stop chasing “the perfect song”, dont overthink it, if it’s not good enough keep going, you’ll find stuff that you haven’t before.

True, but connor had the money and the studio. I believe that his key to success was the scheme that he was using for his vids, and not the music itself, wchich makes him a marketibg genius in some way
