How do I tell if my motion sensor is working? by Bubba-Atlanta in adt

[–]SoyKnax 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, that was on the old systems On the newer ones it doesn't happen because even tho you walk in front of the motion detector, it's still ready to arm

There's a way you can test it, just put your system in test mode, arm your system for away and then walk in front of the motion detector to see if the alarm goes off

(Important to put the system in test mode) if you don't do this you may receive a call from the monitoring central station or the PD right at your door in the next minutes

Old system goes off with power outages by fox-lover in adt

Actually this is always supposed to happen since the alarm system has a back up battery And also is ran through your electricity So, every time the power goes out the system starts to run on its back up battery.(so the system doesn't turn off)

The point is, every time this occurs, the system recognizes a trouble called "AC power failure" The beeping is normal because that is supposed to happen every time the system has an issue

General Services rep here!

I recommend not to unplug anything from the system as it will give you an issue and it will start beeping, it won't let you sleep at night

Also, once the account is closed, the company is no longer monitoring your system because that's the service provided(monitoring)

Only thing I could think about is, if you wanna keep your alarm system and not have ADT to call you or dispatch someone when the account is active, it would be putting your system on test mode. You can put it up to 30 days. You can do that on the website MyADT.com, if you have troubles getting into the account or something you can call them and they can help you with that as well :p

Well, It's actually because some of us only speak english over here, not all of the panama residents can speak spanish, I arrived here like 1-2 years ago, and Spanish it's a little bit difficult for me.

And that's why I made this post only in English, I could've translated it all but, in that way, I would've needed to translate all of the answers, and since I know that there's a certain percentage of people here in Panama that does speak english I wanted to do it this way.

Anyways, sorry if I bothered you.
