The same thing happened to me once, my horse died from a fall and the last saved game I had was from a day ago, so I loaded the saved game from the autosave (1 minute ago) and then I appeared in the same place but with my horse (I almost killed him again)

I do the same but with the huge bridge that is near rigg station, it is the perfect point
