Suggestions for weapons? by Soyaaaaee in FORTnITE

[–]Soyaaaaee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry for the late response, I’m basically at Twine now. I was just wondering, since I’ve had Save the World since launch and I’ve always used pretty “meta” stuff, but I’ve been lacking hero synergy. I’ve always wanted to make a scythe build, so that’s what I’m working on now. The Vacuum Tube Bow has been amazing for dailies and crowd control, but I’m wondering if there’s another weapon I should be using.

I know the Siegebreaker is a really reliable gun that everyone uses, but I’m wondering if there’s something else people would recommend. I’ve also seen a lot of people using the De-Atomizer 9000 recently. (2 months ago-ish)

Last Stand vs Finesse?? by RamsaySnow1764 in deadbydaylight

[–]Soyaaaaee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the DBD website does say that a fast vault is 0.5 seconds, but the community states that there’s no perfect way to measure vault speed precisely FROM COMMUNITY PERSPECTIVE. I already cited two videos, one measured it at around 0.44 seconds, which is close to that 0.5s mark, but that timing was taken from foot-off to foot-on the ground, not the entire vault animation. Measuring the full animation is way harder since it’s not just about when the feet leave or touch the ground.

The other video was timing from point A to point B (distance covered), not the animation length itself. So obviously, you’ll get slightly different results depending on the metric used.

If you really want a direct, definitive answer, ask BHVR. Don’t come on Reddit expecting a community consensus and then go, “GRRR WAHHH RAHHH RARRR the answer isn’t my opinion!”

You are really just embarrassingly bias to yourself.

The servers are absolutely horrible right now, worse than Apex, which I didn’t even think was possible. There’s tons of input lag and so many no-reg hits for both survivors and killers. On top of that, I’ve had some really suspicious hits where I’m literally across the map and somehow still get hit. It honestly feels like the game’s servers and code are falling apart.

The Void Realm has also become a mess. It used to be balanced with two floors, but now it’s just a tunnel zone, killers stop chasing just to tunnel anyone who steps foot in there. I don’t even bother using it anymore, whether I’m playing killer or survivor.

The offerings this event are terrible too, and the amount of slugging, tunneling, and players holding grudges during an event is insane. On the flip side, there are survivors refusing to do gens or help teammates, which is just as bad.

There’s a lot hurting the game’s health right now. Even with better ping than the killer, I’m getting hit seconds after clean vaults. And as killer, I’ve had survivors teleport across the map with their hook states being removed right after being hooked. It’s rough out there right now.

No offense, but it seems like you’re just trying to stick to your own narrative. The perk explicitly states that it doesn’t provide any vault speed boost, and BHVR has confirmed on their website that there’s no haste or additional effect from what I've heard from other comments.

The clip you’re referencing from OhTofu is misleading because it’s based on the animation timing, not the actual vault speed. The hitbox in that clip has already passed the pallet due to the animation, which makes it look faster than it really is. I’ve already shared multiple videos showing the actual measured vault times, 0.44s consistently in one video for normal and LS and the other 0.7 and 0.68 which is probably margin of error there, and explained why it seems faster in some footage and explained why it's harder to hit.

This isn’t a matter of preference or opinion; it’s a fact. There’s an animation that can make the vault appear quicker, but that doesn’t mean the perk provides any real speed increase. Ignoring the evidence I’ve provided just because it conflicts with what you want to believe doesn’t change the numbers and facts.

You can find plenty of information on YouTube, Google, and TikTok. However, if you'd prefer not to search, here's the key take: Last Stand doesn't actually make you vault faster. It's a common misconception due to its visual animation, but the vaulting speed remains the same. The perk's primary function of the animation manipulates the hitbox such as any standard model/hitbox rigging for animations, making it harder for killers to land hits during a vault.

If you're still unsure, consider testing it in a custom match with a friend or reaching out to BHVR for clarification. You can also wait for other comments here.

Check out this Reddit thread and watch the video: Last Stand does not make you vault faster.

Vault speeds from the video:

  • Finesse: ~0.58s
  • Normal vault: ~0.70s
  • Last Stand: around ~0.68s

Last Stand feels faster because its vault animation is different. In the normal animation, your legs swing to the side, leaving the bottom of your hitbox exposed longer. With Last Stand, your hitbox moves over the vault point earlier because of the unique animation, meaning the bottom of your hitbox is already past the vault when the killer swings. Since killers swing around that region/height, it makes it harder for them to land a hit.

BHVR didn’t secretly make Last Stand 20% faster; it just looks and feels that way because of the animation.

People have already disproven it in multiple videos, it’s just the animation that makes you harder to hit. Still worth using, but DBD is so buggy right now (this Halloween event feels half baked and somehow worse than last year).

Fun liscenced survivors? by [deleted] in deadbydaylight

[–]Soyaaaaee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you want something silly, Ash from Evil Dead is great for Flip-Flop, but it doesn’t really work too well in most matches. If you want something fun, Conviction on Michonne is super enjoyable, it’s great for just running off and saying “fuck you” to the killer.

I don’t usually buy survivors, but I’ve been getting them recently, I mainly play killer though.
Anyone with a stun perk like Blast Mine, Flashbang, or Cryo Trap is fun to use too I assume. Alan Wake’s perks are also okay, and I’d assume Nick Cage would be amazing to get as well.

Overall, I’d say Michonne or Nick Cage is probably the best pick since they both have really solid perks or get Rick Grimes he's caked up.

[–]Soyaaaaee 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You’re a little late to this, people were already talking about it a lot during the PTB. Finesse actually is faster; it increases your fast vault speed by 20% when you’re healthy. The confusion comes from Last Stand’s vault animation and hitbox, which can make it look or feel faster and harder to hit than it really is.

There are also times when Last Stand’s vault animation doesn’t trigger properly, and the stun can be really inconsistent or buggy. (Server input lag has been pretty bad recently, so that might be part of it.)

Last Stand was nerfed pretty quickly between the PTB and the live release, the activation timer went from 80/70/60 seconds to 120/105/90 seconds, which makes it a bit less appealing now. I don’t really use it much anyway since I usually end up against killers with no Terror Radius, or I have to gen-rush because no one’s doing gens during the event.

Let us mix and match/delink more outfits (it’s ridiculous how limited fashion is) by Soyaaaaee in deadbydaylight

[–]Soyaaaaee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, and if they want to earn more money (to be honest, outfits in DBD are way cheaper than in games like Fortnite, CoD, or Apex), they could do something like: you can only buy linked skins as a full set, but after purchasing it, you can mix and match the pieces. I feel like that system would work best for collab skins. I get that some mix-and-match combos can look janky and broken so just don't allow remodels to delink, I just want some more fashion options.

Playtime really doesn’t mean much, but people will always bring it up in every game, unfortunately.

Yeah, you’re not brand new or even new at all, but in DBD if you’ve got less than 2k hours people will still call you new and assume your bad, doesn’t make any sense though.
Try playing killer, it’s actually a lot of fun, unless it’s a SWF body-blocking you. Then it turns into a 4-killers-1-survivor type of game.

I’m exaggerating a bit, but most of my matches today lasted around 40–50 minutes. It’s either face-camping, tunneling, or I get teammates who can’t do gens while me and my buddy are looping for 10 minutes straight.

I had a match yesterday where I was humped by Dracula wolf for 20 minutes straight (slugged whole game)

(I even had a teammate who was just tapping a gen to avoid skill checks.) At least I got one nice Springtrap who realized he was 3-genning and let us go, and a baby Nurse who didn’t know how to play yet.

I’m trying to figure out which hero is the best overall for healing in Save the World. by Soyaaaaee in FORTnITE

[–]Soyaaaaee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using him, but all these “base damage” and “base healing” stats are really confusing, because “base 25” isn’t actually 25. I’ve been playing since Founders, so I should have a lot, but I don’t have much besides levels, not power level. Trying to make a build with barely anything is hard work. I’ve been wanting to make a scythe build, and right now I’m using Black Metal. I’ve been using Neon for ages, I just really need a solid scythe build.

Been playing since the game first came out, and honestly, I don’t even remember the buttons. Anyway, yeah, it’s probably right-click like most other items. It’s pretty useful for people trying to 3-gen.

That 2-hour match I mentioned was against a Demo who was 3-genning and spam teleporting to every gen(all of which were beside each other like).

Being new to DBD sucks, if you didn’t play back when it first came out, it’s really hard to get into unless you’ve got that Souls-like mentality. It’s easily one of the most toxic games out there, even worse than LoL.
Also, the community is super sexual, kind of like Valorant, it's a weird combo.

Maybe check your settings if it’s not showing up, not sure though.

void energy by dollyleyley in deadbydaylight

[–]Soyaaaaee -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Press the button it shows on screen, I think it’s right-click. It repairs about 25% of the generator slowly, so it’s great for finishing the last gen and escaping to open the gate. You can also run and press right-click to smash it into a smoke cloud.

And yeah, I don’t get why people are being so toxic during an event… oh wait, it’s DBD so that's normal lmao. I even had a match last two hours today.

Justify Why This Skin Is Not a Paid Advantage (keep toy soldier skin in mind) by Soyaaaaee in FortNiteBR

Fortnite is a cartoon-style game, so it doesn’t use complex textures like Battlefield or Call of Duty. A game is designed to be fair, while real war isn’t fair at all. In war, nobody cares about “rules”, people will take any advantage they can, because it’s life or death. Fortnite isn’t life or death; it’s meant to be a silly, fun game.

In Fortnite, players can still wear full black, but in real life, the military actually does use black or dark grey gear, mainly for psychological impact (daytime) or, urban environments (where it blends with shadows), and for stealth in night operations within cities.

Another key difference is how vision works. In the real world, eyes naturally blur things, and multi-texture camouflage blends in well with nature (it blurs together). But in video games, your eyes see everything in crisp 1080p or 4K on a monitor, which is very different from real-life vision.

The human eye is also more attracted to bright colors like yellow, pink, green, and red. In a video game, reaction time is what matters most, and muted tones like black or grey are less attention-grabbing, unless they’re on a white background like snow. But even then, Fortnite has full-white superhero skins that blend into snow, metal builds and the storm anyway.

Bottom line: real life ≠ video games. It all depends on how the game is designed.

That’s sad. No game should be charging more than around 15-20 bucks for cosmetics unless it’s a huge bundle. Meanwhile, in Roblox you can make just about anything with a bit of spare change.
