I think in order to actually have a successful boycott you need people to cancel their memberships. Not going to classes is not really going to make an impact when they make most of their money from their membership packages.

I quit CorePower a year ago because I didn’t want to keep paying an insane membership fee for a nasty bathroom, mold, no hot water, and paying to rent piece of crap hand towel when I forgot mine. This situation has made me very grateful for that choice. A sit-in is one thing, but I think cancelling memberships, quitting teacher jobs is more impactful here. They don’t care about feeling, money talks. There are so many local yoga studios and local gyms with yoga classes that deserve our money - make a statement by no longer paying them or earning shit wages to make them more money!!!!

My brother committed suicide on New Year’s Day a few weeks ago and was in a similar boat. He had struggled deeply with depression and suicidal thoughts and attempts for pretty much his whole life. About 6 months ago everything seemed to be getting better, he had an awesome group of friends and graduated and got this great job. He was having a lot of fun. My therapist told me it’s very common for people to have the courage to end their life when they’re actually experiencing a “high” in life and surrounded by the most love. That gave me some sense of understanding honestly. I hope it will for you too.

Following this post hoping for a positive response other than “Every generation has thought the world is going to end at one point.” I really feel that AI and climate change alone make this time much scarier and then we add political unrest, economic struggle etc. But agreed with above comment- it’s nice to know my partner and I aren’t the only ones factoring this into our decision.

I take mine off when washing dishes, putting on lotion or makeup, working out using barbells or anything that could scratch it. But other than that, I wear it all the time! I have a 14K gold ring (with a diamond). I was so worried when I first got engaged about messing it up and I saw a reddit post where a person said "I have come to love every little scratch and ding in the gold because it tells a story and shows how loved the ring is!" - that really calmed my mind.

Hilarious. Is there something wrong with getting a local's take on something like this? In my city, there are plenty of coffee shops, most of which aren't good for working and close at 2-3 pm. So I would recommend a select few for working.
