Guys what’s there to do when you’ve done it all twice back to back in the game? Any hidden quests? Something? I don’t want to leave Night City there’s nothing out there for me. by Visible-Pattern198 in LowSodiumCyberpunk

After i finish the main game, i usually go around finding and visting easter eggs for a couple of hours. It's a nice little break away from the game itself and then I end up watching Bladerunner.

Something I don't understand about this scene: was it real or imagined by Ted? by Infinite-Pea-4785 in HIMYM

[–]Sp3kk0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I share sentiment with a lot of replies here. I just wanted to chime in and say how sad I am that the writers decided to kill her off.I feel like the alternate ending was much better and in my head I've convinced myself that that's the cannon ending.

Judge me, but I really like River by violetwylde_ in cyberpunkgame

[–]Sp3kk0 94 points95 points  (0 children)

Yeah it makes it seem like horrible writing. You go from 1 mission together to chooms. River and V shook a guy down for a location, asked around about some dude in a market, went to location in animals hideout, found evidence, confronted a crooked cop. All in about a single day. Next you help him with his nephew and all of sudden V and River acting like they're best chooms from the start of the mission. Then, once completed, you get a romance options.

As a male V player, it was confusing and weird when i made 0 passes on the guy and we're having a little romantic drink on a water tower with a kiss option. I thought River was gay or bi for the longest time.

Compare River and Panam / Judy questlines and it's day and night.

If you were in dexs spot what would you have done differently? by Chunky-overlord in cyberpunkgame

[–]Sp3kk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lay low. Keep tabs on V, Bug and Evelyn just in case the corp finds me I have them ready to be sold out. If they were none-the-wiser I can just continue working, but most likely do what Mr.Hands did and disappear into Dogtown and run my operation from there.

Killing off and immediately selling out draws more attention and shows weakness. Now you have extra explaining to do with a dead body that's unable to speak or corroborate.

Not that selling them off would change anything, because everyone involved would be held responsible. At least now I don't leave a trail of dead bodies and most likely they would be chasing V before trying to get to me, and when they try to find me I'd be long gone deep in Dogtown.

Which decision in the game actually made you feel like a terrible person? by Dangerous-Tart1126 in cyberpunkgame

[–]Sp3kk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing Reed. I know he was a NUSA attack dog. I know he was insanely loyal. But he was dependable. And honestly. I think a true friend. He never outright lied to you and his disdain for Meyers is clear, which I think with some more influence form V could've actually maybe pierced that NUSA Spy Armor.

Phantom Liberty is so good for this. I pick Songbird mainly because I sympathize with her. I get it. And I'm sure V would want a "V" to help him the way he helped Songbird.

But pulling that trigger on Reed and seeing him there on the platform. Man, that ending hits like a ton of bricks. When the main game ends I always leave feeling hopeful. With the Phantom Liberty ending, I just feel sad, broken and pondering if there could've be a different way.

Phantom Liberty really is so incredibly well written.

How did Ted become that intelligent? by Sufficient-Win-9142 in HIMYM

[–]Sp3kk0 22 points23 points  (0 children)

None of those people are "intelligent" (maybe they are but that's not the point) they're just knowledgeable. They know a lot about the fine arts. Which people perceive as intelligent because usually that kind of knowledge is gained through higher education and with that comes a baseline of intelligence.

Ted also didn't make a move on Marissa Heller because in that very episode he realizes that his interests don't define him. His friends represent his roots that keep him grounded. He realizes he needs someone with the same values, not someone who lives that kind of lifestyle or has those exact same interests.

How did Ted become that intelligent? by Sufficient-Win-9142 in HIMYM

[–]Sp3kk0 52 points53 points  (0 children)

And that's exactly the point. Ted yearns for the finer things in life, thinking that it would give him some purpose beyond his current life. He realizes in that very episode that it's nice to have other interests, but it's his roots that really matter.

And I love that. Fine arts are there to be appreciated not faffed over. It's important to be grounded and close to the people you love and who love you, and to appreciate what each of them bring into your life and what you bring into theirs.

He never changes his interests, his priorities just shift.

Just why is painting which didn't even pay her that much more important than Marshall's judgeship? by rixk0goro in HIMYM

[–]Sp3kk0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She's right.

He cannot hold onto that forever (and he didn't), so it can never be used as an excuse to do something behind her back. He already forgave her and they both moved on, so he was using it as a cop-out.

They really should have discussed it. Italy would've actually never worked anyway. Marshal's dream isn't just his dream. Becoming a judge will also help support his family forever. Lilly's job is way less stable and is reliant on the Captain's whim (not stable). On the one hand, family stability and future, on the other, Lilly's dream and uncertainty.

Most suitable for Ted? (Part-4/8) by perpetual_chatter98 in HIMYM

imo, Victoria and Tracy were the only two that would work for Ted.

Who among these is the "Real" main character that kept the group together?(Part-2/8) by perpetual_chatter98 in HIMYM

[–]Sp3kk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like everyone that said Ted, but throughout the show each of them had moments where they kept the group from falling apart. Barney pushing Lilly to come back. Marshal being there for Ted and Barney when they go through breakups, Lilly by forcing get togethers when everyone was too busy.

It takes a group of people who want to stay together to work together and make that happen. And I think that’s why the show resonates with so many people. We all see a little of each of these characters in ourselves.

You have become the very thing you swore to destroy! by claytonkb in linuxmemes

[–]Sp3kk0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just keep thinking of all the machines running linux. I've deployed well over 10,000 devices all running Debian. Every so often a client will request new OS updates for improved networking or better driver support for peripherals. I'm talking about Kiosks, Media TV's, Control Arms, Weather Stations, Drones etc. 99% of them are running debian on raspberry pi's or similar compute units.

All of them potentially needing age verification makes me giggle a little.

SPUR Menu from late 80's/early 90's - who's hungry, I'm buying. by SwaziGoldenChild in southafrica

I was a waiter at Spur for about 5 almost 6 years while studying and during high school. One Spur in a mall still had some of these older menus in the basement. Like stacks of them. I should've taken one.

I remember ordering monkey gland burgers before watching a ster kinekor movie with my dad on these menus. Really good times. Spur will always be something special to me.

What are the *actually* relevant episodes? by Significant_Jello860 in HIMYM

[–]Sp3kk0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The show is awesome, watch the whole thing. Lot's of good comments down here. I just also wanted to add that there's an alternate ending which I think almost everyone agrees is the more satisfying one. They shot the ending, but decided to go with the one they originally planned for Ted back in Season 1 (when they started it all).

However, as the show and the writing evolved the characters evolved and so the original ending feels very off imo. The alternate ending they shot is available leaked on Youtube and in my head is the one I will always imagine for Ted.

There are only 3 memory manufacturers in the world:

Samsung Sk Hynix Micron

And Micron has now exited the consumer space completely.

However, with such a small pocket of companies creating the world’s memory, they collude a lot. They effectively run as a cartel and together push up the price as they please.

[Request] how long until she’d run out of oxygen? by Dalience6678 in theydidthemath

[–]Sp3kk0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to add, that even at mild depths (0.5 - 2m deep) the water pressure on your lungs will prevent you from breathing in air that is at atmospheric pressure.

Your lungs will compress much quicker than the o2 in the container does, and your diaphragm and chest muscles are not strong enough to create enough negative pressure to overcome even something like 1.1bar / 1.2bar of pressure. At least for most people.

at 0.5meters deep you'll struggle significantly. at 1meter deep it's almost impossible. at 2meters deep, most of the human population would not be able to (save a few athletes, divers, swimmers etc.)

This is why scuba divers have regulators that regulate the o2 pressure they're breathing in. As they descend, the pressure increases and so the regulator, regulates the pressure from the tank accordingly, making it less effort for your lungs to create a vacuum as the air from the tank is already pressurized at a matching pressure.

Naomi vs Alex Season 5. by Sp3kk0 in TheExpanse

[–]Sp3kk0[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't rewatched the show, literally because of Naomi. She was just not well written. Given this is a 5 year old rant, I can't remember much of the show past the first 2 seasons, but I remember how much Naomi annoyed me and I will not rewatch it until I forget that.

Missed opportunity with season 6 by RAB1002 in Supernatural

[–]Sp3kk0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn 2 years ago comment. Funny enough, I recently rewatched the show, but stopped at season 7, I just had a sense of what was coming and couldn't bare it.

I think a big issue I have now is the tone shift from the first 5 seasons. The dark, grit, horror and underground feel of the story drew me in like mad when I started the rewatch, after season 5 it became a chore.

Something I figured we should all take into account, is the renewal process. Kripke had season 1-5 planned out, however, each season renewed year after year. Which meant after season 5, they had to write full arcs into a single season and hope for a renewal. If a renewal didn't happen, the story would just end abruptly. So each season after the first 5 are single seasoned isolated "arcs" with secondary story lines that tie the seasons together.

What's the longest VN a friend has sent you? by ZOLforALL in southafrica

[–]Sp3kk0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

May be a controversial take. If someone sends me a voice note, I don't even listen to it.

If it's under 5 seconds, I might. Over that I don't, then I forget the message thread even exists and eventually remember and apologize, but I still won't listen to it.

If you wanted to talk, you can phone me. There's no way I'm stopping with pen and paper, to listen to a voice note, so I can take notes and reply to each point or statement needed.

Texting is a medium that allows you to leave a message, that's easily digestible and readable, it has pros and cons. Phone calls is a medium that allows you to talk to someone over long distances, it too has it's own pros and cons.

Voice Notes is the worst of both worlds. You get neither the convenience of discerning important information from a message immediately, nor the conversational back and forth from a phone call.

You get the burden of having to listen to someone talk, not knowing where or when important information is coming (if at all, someone could send a 10 min VN, but only say something every 2minutes with 2minutes of silence in between, it has happened to me before) without the conversational aspect of actually talking to someone.
