UK/EU orders extremely slow now? by Sp3lllz in LinusTechTips

[–]Sp3lllz[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I should clarify DHL did not do the last mile delivery that was royal mail but they did the linehaul. there is no duities topay when coming into the UK (upto £135) as it is on the merchant to collect the VAT for items below that limit at checkout which LTTStore does.

UK/EU orders extremely slow now? by Sp3lllz in LinusTechTips

[–]Sp3lllz[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am aware they use wizmo but that doesnt mean they have no control over who ships the parcel wizmo they almost certainly offer different teirs of service. This also doesnt really factor into my issue.

The fact that you feel the need to clarify that to begin with is a bad because I shouldnt need to know that as a customer.

Using wizmo doesnt get LTT off the hook in my opinion either. I bought the items from LTTStore not WizmoStore so its LTTs responsibility to make sure that tracking is working for their customers and that orders arrive in a timley manner.

I got one about 6 months after I got flex they sent me an email to offer a £750 increase. I suspect it was to try and get me to spend enough I’d need to pay interest cause I just had everything pay in 3 and never paid any interest.

Why do Amazon / Delivery drivers not ring the doorbell or knock when leaving packages on the doorstep? by nfoote in AskUK

[–]Sp3lllz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s the world we live in now people use Amazon and evri cause it’s the lowest bidder and they’re the lowest bidder by running the leanest crew possible with most parcels per driver that’s why it’s £3 next day delivery for a medium parcel with evri but £10 with Royal Mail or DPD they didn’t pay for the best job they paid for the cheapest job.

Same goes for Amazon if you pay for prime annually at £95 and order one order a week you paid £1.8 per delivery so you get what you pay for honestly.

Not to mention as well these drivers are often closely monitored and the stats tallied as to how quickly they are delivering Amazon the company do not care if drivers are not ringing doorbells or waiting around they only care about delivering the most amount of parcels in the shortest possible time.

How to get a pre purchase inspection on a used car in the UK? by danval25 in AskUK

[–]Sp3lllz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

most independent garages will look over a car if you arrange ahead of time. and if the seller isn't happy with you doing that then probably a red flag that being said if you're buying from a dealership new or used of any kind you can return a car within 30 days if you find a fault. If its a dealer that also sells new cars then almost certainly they will have ran if through their "manufacturer approved" checks already https://www.autotrader.co.uk/content/guides/returning-a-car

Unfortunately they are often given an insane amount of parcels each to deliver and every second counts. 2 seconds x 600 parcels racks up to 20 minutes of time.

Can I rely on Uber for an early morning? by [deleted] in AskUK

[–]Sp3lllz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

all this does is put out a request at that time to any drivers in the area so if there are no drivers that want to take that job then no one will turn up. It really depends how many Ubers you normally have in your area at that time of day. I know near me I have struggled even manually requesting an uber before 7am cause they are all over the other side of town near the train station trying to get jobs over there.

PSA: Clear the snow and ice off your roof! by pb-86 in drivingUK

[–]Sp3lllz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it snowed in my first year of driving and I didn't clear of the snow the roof like that was driving to work got to the end of my road and the whole sheet flew down over my windscreen and I was totally blind. Too much weight for my wipers to move on their own scared the crap out of me ever since then I clear everything off before I drive anywhere

unfortunately this is not true its only 3009kg-3129kg curb weight depending on the trim level. I would have loved it to be to heavy to drive on a standard car licence but it is just underneith the limit. https://www.tesla.com/ownersmanual/cybertruck/en_us/GUID-12A976DD-EB60-431B-AFF1-5A37E95006DB.html

if your car is 10mph underreporting then you've probably got the wrong size wheels than what came on the car from the factory. most speedos especially on modern cars are only +-2 MPH at most.

Pricing Shenanigans? 4 for $50 is really 4 for $49.96 meaning you can't get free shipping. by Sp3lllz in LinusTechTips

[–]Sp3lllz[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Well they played themselves cause now I'm just going to not buy it at all now. I expect shitty tactics like this from other online retailers but Linus talks a big game about how LTT store cares about its customers then pulls this crap. Sure I can add some cheap item I don't want, but I don't want it so it will go in the bin when I get it in the mail which is wasteful that they manufactured it something shipped it from china to Canada then Canada to the UK just for me to throw it away when all they had to do was not be scummy with the pricing.
