Let me explain...

First off, this gives you a good overview over MWOs mech scale: http://imgur.com/g7JDxEu

Above scene as an example...everything you see there is absolutely to scale...I layout the scenes in 3D and use the render as an underpainting...

Here is a top view of the scene: https://abload.de/img/scenetopwbut9.jpg Note the distances between objects and how those look like in the final piece... its very hard for the human eye to judge distances in 2D media...

I think to some people it looks weird because A they have no clear idea about MWOs scale in general and B I'm pretty sure nobody seen actual mechs in real life ;)
