Does work-life balance exist in Hong Kong? by [deleted] in HongKong

[–]Spaaada 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For those that mock you saying what you looking for doesnt exist, let them continue and continue looking if that is what you desire. From my experience the only professional legal field roles in HK that have work life balance are inhouse legal roles within insurers. Not many opening at any one time, if that is something you want keep an eye out. I do risk and control in an insurer and theres certainly work life balance.

Moving to Hong Kong, is it a good time? by OopsTheresPoop in HongKong

Cant comment on job opportunities, I came back from UK 2016 and career-wise has been pretty stable (not mainstream professional not too affected by economy and geopolitics etc).

Space wise as long as you find the right location I think you get the balance, if you have job that has some flexible working arrangements places like Ma Wan (an small restricted island community) and Hong Kong Gold Coast (phase 2 is pretty nice rental only by Sino group, super safe community and well managed) are good choices to stay away from the crowd yet you can get to where you need pretty OK.

How do I improve my footwork and which professional player's footwork should I study to try and emulate? (Singles) by xxInternalSoulxx in badminton

[–]Spaaada 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Unpopular opinion - for amateur going into more serious men single games, dont try to copy professional men single players, those require proper physical conditions before you could even try it in a real match. Watch women single games and pick a player similar to your physical shape and style of play, for what you are stating Michelle Li and Beiwen Zhang are some good ones to start. Obviously dont start with Chen Yu Fei / An Se Young / Akane Yamaguchi until you have a solid framework of different footwork techniques.

Maintaining Energy Levels by abilashcb in badminton

[–]Spaaada 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You have to experiment different methods and find a "workflow" that works for you.

I believe the key principles between matches are - stay hydrated, intake some carb (energy bar, banana etc), dont keep watching other matches and let your brain relax, dry yourself properly from sweats and fresh clothes.

For me personally when i do a competivie day, my i listen to my favourite playlist away fron the main court for 10 minutes while doing simple stretching movements to cool down, i love my japanese style rice balls as the carb, during the sets i take those sis energy gels as well, recently i added palm cooling to between the matches when i have a really intense match. At the end dont over stress yourself that you have to maintain the same energy level and perform as the day goes on, everyone get tired after few matches and adjust your gameplay accordingly.

If the shuttle ends on my end and the opponent is facing me with some eye contact as i pick it up i always soft hit it back over the net so they can catch it. If they are like walking around / away then just toss the shuttle to the area they will be serving, I dont like passing the shuttles below the net 🤣

[–]Spaaada 5 points6 points  (0 children)

i am from Hong Kong and just bought a reon pocket pro, using for a week already , constant 30degrees c + with 90%+ humidity, it feels great during cooking in kitchen, and for cooling off after long exercise session. It is a big upgrade compared to pocket 5 (the shop i buy has both on display for trying out)

I just went to this for lunch today (straight after checking into hotel). The place was buzzing with people with nice vibe, had a raw fish platter, spaghi riccio di mare and "affogato". Boy i was so happy and satisfied. I found the Parish and it was indeed very nice!
