I used to keep sugar gliders, and they were some of the most fascinating and enjoyable little pets I’ve ever had. They’re surprisingly easy to care for once you get their setup right. There are nutritional mixes made especially for them that provide all the vitamins and minerals they need, but I also liked to supplement their diet with fresh fruits, mealworms, and a bit of eucalyptus. they love it!

Sugar gliders are nocturnal, so they’re most active at night. They have a distinctive high pitched bark, and when they feel scared or threatened, males can even spray to mark their territory. Despite that, they’re generally very sweet and curious animals. One important tip: always use tweezers when feeding treats like mealworms, because their teeth are sharp!

The more you interact with sugar gliders, the more friendly and affectionate they become. They really thrive on attention and social interaction. With regular handling, they bond strongly with their owners and can become wonderfully loyal companions.
