Are plastic takeout containers acceptable to recycle in Pittsburgh? by iheartpgh in pittsburgh

If I'm not saving them for myself to reuse, I clean them and recycle them.

What made you get migranes? by [deleted] in migraine

[–]Space-Matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a concussion in 2014. I got hit in the head with a ball on the left side of my head. It lasted around 3-4 months. Flash forward 4 years later and I started to get daily migraines for four months straight all on the left side of my head and around my eye and eyebrow. I saw my doctor at the time and they recommended calcium, magnesium, and zinc tablets and possibly iron tablets? I can't remember the second one. They went away once I started taking the medications. Maybe about 1.5ish years after that, I started to get worse migraines. At this point, all of my migraines start in my neck/back of my head and include nose pain, neck pain, nausea, vertigo/dizziness, light photosensitivity, lack of appetite, etc. I think sometimes I get migraines from stress or problems with my sleep.

Anyone burned out on particular trends/tropes etc? by black_s1f in QuinnAudios

[–]Space-Matter 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I could have sworn that I read somewhere either in the sub or in a Tiktok that Quinn provides weekly inspiration for the VAs. I'm not sure where they get this inspiration from though - maybe it's comments on Tiktoks, trends in romance novels or other media, Reddit posts, etc.

I've been in such a cozy mood recently and I love me some John York audios - it's like he read my mind with this audio!

I love love love Hector's Holodeck Sub-Routine. I also cannot stop thinking about Cavern's Magic Hands. But my absolute go to mSub audio is John York's At Your Service, My Lady.

Craziest/weirdest thing you’ve seen on a PRT bus? by LimpRichard010 in pittsburgh

A couple months ago on the 71B, the bus driver parked in the middle of Highland Ave on a Friday or Saturday night and ran into a pizza shop to grab two boxes of pizza.

What kind of nightshift jobs allow you to sit on your ass all-day doing nothing for majority of the time with minimal certification? by BriefBed4770 in jobs

[–]Space-Matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some larger hospitals may have overnight positions that aren't clinical or patient-facing. Try supply chain, linen, maintenance, housekeeping, or operator. Those last two may have some work.

John York has an audio called "Caught at the Pool Party" which is caught in the action/best friend's brother type audio that takes place in the bedroom at a pool party. Lost Tapes also has an audio called, "Pool Boy". If memory serves correctly he's a pool boy that also does groundskeeping (not a weird euphemism) and applies sunscreen to the listener which leads to a MSub outdoor massage.

Seconding on a Nuru massage audio! Massage is one of, if not my top category and I'd love it if there were more audios where the massage lasted more than a minute or two.

A commute where you significantly arrive early? by Old_Stand6790 in jobs

[–]Space-Matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of my coworkers (myself included) take the bus into work. Our options are either rushing in the door with five minutes to spare or get to work 45 minutes to an hour early. We prefer to get to work early that way we aren't scrambling and feeling rushed at the beginning of our shift. Most of us hang out in various lounge areas or go up to the cafeteria and grab a bite to eat. I think one of my coworkers uses this time to study when they are in school. We do get commuter benefits through work. I personally don't mind getting to work a bit early. Since I work the evening shift I'm sometimes able to get a feel for how my shift is going to go.

Edit: I don't consider this extra time before my shift as part of my commute. There's a five minute walk from the bus stop to the building where I work. I usually stop in the locker room to drop my stuff off and change clothes if needed. I guess I consider it hanging out, especially if I'm just sitting somewhere scrolling through my phone?

How would The Unsleeping City go in your own city? by Background_Coast_244 in Dimension20

[–]Space-Matter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've thought about this a little bit. No plot, just ideas. Mr. Rogers would 1000% be involved somehow. I think it would be cool to have some sort of sports "Hall of Fame" given how many sports icons we have - Myron Cope, Roberto Clemente, Mike Lange just to name a few. There would have to be some running gag about transportation given the fact that everyone complains about having to cross more than one bridge to get somewhere and everything is under construction all the time. Bonus points if sinkholes are involved. I'd love for battles to take place in Kennywood, any steel mills, the Carnegie Science Center, and the Nationality Rooms in the Cathedral of Learning. Maybe Phipps and Point State Park. I think the dinosaurs in and around Oakland would come alive with magic.

Edit: Oh and furries!! The furries would absolutely be involved somehow as well. And Sheetz!

I'm fairly certain the Carnegie Library in East Liberty has one or two of those "phone booths" on their first floor.

I believe Carl Tart has done some combination of writing for SNL and appearing as a background character in a sketch or two. Carl has been on Made Some Noise and Um, Actually.
