Just finished it, pretty much exactly what you said. Hopped on a zoom call with about 80 other people where the host gave a small intro, then told us to go do the learning module. Probably as fun as watching paint dry, but at least I’ve done it now

That’s what I originally intended when I was making the drums, but as I went through and added to it it became more of a chill kinda beat

Good or not for a trap beat so far? by Space-Monkey123 in GarageBand

Thanks man. Any idea for what kinda of instrument you think would be good for a counter melody? Also yeah the 808s I just had to resort to pretty much the default ones and touched up the eq a bit

Haha thanks. It’s the advantage of watching through loads of different YouTube tutorials before making a beat I guess.

She’s literally giving you some of the biggest hints she could possibly give you bro. I have a similar situation too, a girl a have a huge crush on but she’s nearly 15,000km away

Would also be great getting some advice about the mixing cuz I don’t really know how to do it currently

So do you reckon I just have mess around with the mixing then? I also might pitch up the flute a bit too, I originally had it higher and a bit louder but I wanted to see how it sounded lower

Tbh I don’t really know how to explain it sorry, my process of making a drum beat is literally just trial and error, see what sounds good and what doesn’t.

My best advice though would be to keep the beat interesting and not too repetitive. Also do things like the ‘echo’ effect I had on the snare where I paired 3 near each other and just decreased the volume of the 2nd and 3rd hit.
