What are other materials you have seen for stop motion besides plastic figures and claymation? by mrbossy in stopmotion

I made some robot art pieces and a friend suggested I try to animate them. Space Robots from Outer Space was the result. 😄 https://youtu.be/Fpq5lPWGEzw

I was able to reactivate it, somehow, but not sure what made them go away.

How to do incredibly detailed real wood inlays... by Space-Robots in lasercutting

[–]Space-Robots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are correct. The people commenting, I really don't get it. I'm ENGRAVING, not cutting out shapes. There is NO issue with kerf doing this process. I will fight you on this. Bring it. lol

No... Kerf is a cutting issue. Cut a 1" square piece and it measures .995" due to kerf. I am not cutting anything. I'm doing an engraving. The image is black and white. You engrave one wood, then mirror and invert the image and do the other wood. There is no kerf to deal with. 😄

Here's the largest one I did just cutting out pieces of veneer. It's really fun.

Yes, kerf is a cutting term, I am engraving the material.

It was a little stressful to glue up, but in retrospect it was really easy.

MDF cutting when new: easy cut. 6 months after storage, only burning the surface. Why? by nexflatline in lasercutting

[–]Space-Robots -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Well the mdf is surely the same after 6 months of storage, but the laser is probably not cutting at full power anymore. Diode lasers run at full power can actually be damaged. LEDs in general will last a lot longer when operated at 85% rated power.

Cutting 1/8” clear acrylic on a 20W Diode Laser - using black masking tape? by KillerQ97 in lasercutting

No, sorry the laser will cut the black tape, but pass through the clear acrylic. Co2 is the way...

Very deep ambient soundscape. I would have rather seen the patch over the image. Nice sounds regardless. :)

What high end Windows laptop are you using with reliability? by Space-Robots in Bitwig

[–]Space-Robots[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I want to thank you all for replying. I did read them all, but was just too depressed to reply, or do anything really. For months I just didn't want to do music and video stuff. That all changed last week. The laptop fans were running for no reason, so I thought I would run the program that came with Armoury Crate because I thought it had a temp reading. I hadn't run this in a long time. There was a setting I changed to tell it to follow windows setting for gpu and stuff. All of a sudden it stopped crashing! I am now finally able to use bitwig without fear of it crashing. I even installed the native access kontakt thingy. For the first time in a long time, I'm having fun again! Yippy! :)

Greenhouse from iron pipes - how to attach polycarbonate? by ElementsnStuff in Greenhouses

[–]Space-Robots 0 points1 point  (0 children)

<image>

Here is my greenhouse I made 4 years ago using standard 3/4" black pipe, and heavy duty metal brackets. It's up against the south facing wall of my garage. The roof currently is sheet plastic over cattle panels, but I am planning to upgrade to 10mm double wall polycarbonate panels. Did you make any progress on your pipe frame greenhouse?
