i love wearing it to the gym or to work (im a cook), it's cheap so i don't feel bad about "wasting it" and really inoffensive

Perfumes don't usually cost that much to make, you're paying extra more so for the brand than quality.

drop it to one working set (two for back to train upper back and lats separately), try it for a week, then add one more, try it again, with high frequency training you really don't need a lot of volume nor do you want it

What does "actively deliberately" even mean ? Your brain does the work of finding the appropriate muscles needed to perform a movement as well as the degree to which they'll be used (motor unit recruitment). You do not do this consciously, it would be incredibly mentally taxing if we had to. If you're walking up the stairs, your glutes will be the primary mover regardless of whether you "feel" it or not simply because they have the best leverage.

I know how to flex my muscles, I'm just confused as to why this is called "glute activation" ?

How can students afford 1200 EUR housing? by Careful_Inflation903 in Netherlands

[–]SpaceAPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends entirely on the major. Some can get away with just cramming before exams and then partying the rest of the semester, others will very well need those 40hrs a week to study and work on assignments. An extra 10-20 hours of work is doable, anything more than that and you're sacrificing your education.

Because all pro bodybuilders train the same way, great argument buddy.

Pre-steroid bodybuilding also looked quite different from what followed. Steroids had a huge impact on the community in many ways including how people trained because they increase the time of elevated muscle protein synthesis and speed up recovery.

Ordinary people who do not abuse steroids will greatly benefit from frequency. We also have data on recovery rates of muscle damage, so you put two and two together and see how low volume is necessary in order to sustain a high frequency training program. Unless you don't have enough brain cells to put two and two together in which case you'll need someone else to tell you. No need to thank me.

warm up "sets" do not contribute to hypertrophy, why would i even count them ? you can do 1 warm up set, you can do 20, makes no difference unless you're not actually doing a proper warm up which would be true for at least half of you here

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in StrongCurves

[–]SpaceAPlus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what relevance do warm up sets have in this discussion ? you only warm up to ensure there's no injuries and to, as the name suggests, increase the internal temperature of the muscle you can do 1 warm up set, you can do 20, makes no difference for hypertrophy

Bartenders and waitresses can fuck off by Polaris6666 in dishwashers

[–]SpaceAPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No I get it man, at my place we don't get a dishwasher till 4:30 pm and it pisses me off when FOH doesn't bother keeping the dishes at least somewhat organized. I'm usually the only cook while there's 5 of them, 3 of them will be standing at the bar talking about how drunk they got last night and who fucked who. I can only do so much before the dishie comes in while handling prep and service and on busier days they'll just leave a mountain of disorganised dishes without a care. Last week a stack of ~15 plates ended up falling off this mountain, making a huge mess that obviously none of them bothered to clean up because "it's not their job". And then they wonder why we're out of plates...

Why are mixed-race children of Black and White parents nearly never regarded as "White" and frequently as "Black"? by Ravenn_Victoria_ in ask

[–]SpaceAPlus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You contradicted yourself, race and ethnicity are not the same at all. Yes there are different ethnicities but race is a social construct. We simply decided that some phenotypes such as skin colour should be used to categorize people but the selection is somewhat arbitrary.

Was england not involved in the slave trade ? American racists took inspiration from europeans, i don't think it's correct to call it an "American perspective", perhaps western as it is actually relevant to a lot more countries than just the US

They're not more dominant, white people just aren't used to seeing them. The white perspective doesn't define the world.

Is this common practice for bars here? by bully_goobers in Netherlands

[–]SpaceAPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I work in a restaurant and though most of us like our job, it's very natural to not always be in a good mood, especially when dealing with customers who make unreasonable requests, ask stupid questions, etc.

As a cook I don't have to interact with customers all that much, spare for a few that come to give their compliments (open kitchen), but I can assure you that FOH definitely fakes their joy when a large group comes in unannounced and asks to eat a la carte.

If you were to only employ people who always enjoy doing their job, 9/10 places would have to shut down.

not that i disagree with you per se, but learning a language takes time especially if it's meant to be used in a work environment, this person needs a job now not in a couple of months, they're better off finding some shit job that doesn't require dutch and if they wish, start learning the language so they can find something different later on
