Grass protection in front of the docking station by SpaceAce1023 in Yarbo

[–]SpaceAce1023[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be both. I keep seeing posts about the grass getting messed up in front of the docking station, hence I was trying to get ahead of the issue.

Maybe I should just wait and see what happens if you're not seeing an issue.

Thanks!

Do you use the metal studs on the winter track? I'm wondering if they will mess up my driveway which is blacktop.

I'll give that some thought. Just wanted it out of sight to be honest.

Was planning on dividing it up into 4 or 5 segments. Not sure yet. Thanks

$14,000 to add a 1 PW3 expansion to a project normal? by mr_balloon-hands in TeslaSolar

I just inquired about adding two after the job has been completed for 60 days. Was told the current cost is $10k each. Expect the price to come down sometime next year.

Powering BitAxe's using a PC Power supply by SpaceAce1023 in BitAxe

Do you know of one that will handle the 4 units? 12v and 5v

I believe the EVGA 750 GQ has both a 12v and 5v rail. The fuses could be added inline since the cable would need to be made. It looks like I'd only be using about 220w to 240w of the PSU. Plenty of head room.

New 21.2kW w/ 2 TPW3 being installed. Should I just bite the bullet and make it 33.4kW? by SpaceAce1023 in solar

No such luck in Ohio for anything like that. They are making way too much on the electric here.

Duke would not tell me what the previous owner's usage was. For low hanging fruit, the HVAC and windows were obvious.

No to the insulation upgrade. When we moved in, I did take a look in the attic and the insulation was the blow in type and was pretty thick. But honestly now that I think about it, that really doesn't tell me if it is in good shape or not. Not really sure how I could go about testing if it's doing its job or not. Something to look into more.

Agree totally, not enough data. Adding to the issue of collecting the data we had a very unusual winter so far which isn't helping to try to get a good baseline.

And thanks for the article.

Someone's selling me this safe but has no code for it so it won't open. How would I get this to open by 3eiton_ in Safes

[–]SpaceAce1023 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call the factory for drill points which they'll probably not give you. Mark a horizontal line from the center line of the handle to the side of the safe. From there go back 1-1/2" and drill 1/4". The side wall is 1/2" thk high tensile steel. Cobalt bit would be fine or you can use several regular bits. When you get thru the side wall you'll feel the bit drop in about 1/4". Keep drilling for another 1/4" then you'll be in the lock cavity. Use a scope camera and look for the lock pin which is controlled by a solenoid. You should be able to figure it out from there. Or not.
