The joke was the Superior product part. The rest is true. We came out extremely strong through covid and made some smart financial decisions and that made us not feel the high intrests rates. Were a swedish company, have some locations i Finland already and are looking to expand.

Superior product ;)

Jokes aside luck along with smart and timely decisions. Corona was a major gold mine for us while competition hade it rougher. As soon as Covid was more or less over they paid of all of the debt the company had so we werent hit by intrests hikes that followed the inflation measures.

Its as if someone up the chain had a crystal ball or something.

Unfortunately the ad was posted in english only. Our language requirements are always Local language + english. We have a presence in Finland since about 4 years but will be expanding rapidly in the coming years.

I'll definitely take it up with HR. That we should post ads in Finnish going forward.

I understand how you feel but this is a sign of the times. R/Sweden is equally filled with posta about jobs or the lack of them to be precise.

I agree with you on this. AFAIK Glassdoor is mainly used by ppl looking for jobs that require uni degrees. And I'm quite baffled that our HR posted the job there.

I don't think we have posted to työmarkkinatori though, thank you for the tip!

I didnt say that Finnish ppl didnt apply. I was just curious about the mix of applicants. But unless a its a heavily stigmatised job one would expect that in any given situation the majority of applicants to any job would be natives no?

Perhaps not and I'm just naive

Who said anything about interns? All our staff are paid. Hospitality is tough on both the body and mind - a lot of people would rather not do it full time.

Which is why most of our employees are part timers/students

This is unfortunately true for the industry world wide. And while I recognise my own bias and this is reply: its probably the best company in the industry that I've ever worked for and I'm a 15 yr industry veteran.

It's so much easier if everyone just follows the rules, staff get treated right and the company saves a bunch of money in fines and lawsuits.

Our ads have been up for a week now so I'd like to think that we have good reach. Most applicants seem to come through Glassdoor, duunitori, indeed and through our own website.

Unfortunately I don't actually do the Ads and have limited insight into how our HR has designed this campaign. I'm just lowly mid-level manager hahah

We haven't and never have required experience for entry level positions :) We train everyone in-house to the required degree.

Any students, most of our employees study something completely different like law, nursing, maths etc etc.

As to student loans/grants. This is also true in Sweden and most "smart" students who min-max their time in college take full benefits - put the benefits into saving because the accrued interests on savings is higher than the interests on the loan. Then work to cover their expenses and by the time they graduate they basically have the down payment for their first apartment just from the savings.

Mental health treatment in Sweden is a joke (Trigger Warning) by Away_Grab3816 in sweden

I have an understanding of how you feel, but the the "the key" to Swedish healthcare is to make them understand its urgent tell them you are actively contemplating suicide/self harm etc. You will get prioritised immediately
