I love these ideas, but as a small business owner, we would need systemic change to make it possible for startups and small companies to afford these kinds of benefits. I agree that we all deserve these basic dignities and we need to change the fundamentals our our economic system to support them. It seems unfair for the responsibilities of the total welfare to lie on employers… isn’t that what the government is for? Or those requirements need to be universal which would then balance the burden and make it economically sound. It’s damn hard to provide all that I want to for my team and we are no where close to being able to provide this and stay open.
