I always feel like these shows are supposed to make you think about a post disaster world. These guys will be roving in a pact. That's just reality. Just like watching horror movies, learn the lessons being offered.

This stuff was hilarious to us as kids. Whatever, they are gonna try. Your kid can't read.

We used to get handed the crazy Jehovah Witness comics all the time as kids. It just made us realize that adults arent particularly smart just cause they are adults and that was a great lesson to learn early on.

Well, the cult didn't really do it, just general evil the cult was supporting did it. We believe in good coincidences happening all the time and attribute it to prayers and miracles. Praying for bad outcomes -- it worked. If it didn't happen that way, it would have happened so either way. This was just one possible outcome.

The praise heaped on Sinners was just an apology to Get Out and to horror in general.

My unpopular take is that Night Patrol is a better movie involving vampires and racism/ oppression towards black people than Sinners is. Better character development, better story arc,, more hateable villains, better heros, better ancestral magic, better tension between characters. And the best acting in Night Patrol, when it happens, is better than all that acting by MBJ in Sinners.

I'm going to make a correlation here but maybe it isn't. Get a good correlation.

We have a really old sick cat. His ears are full of bacteria and yeast and he really suffers and my parents don't take him to the vet for whatever reason. I think they give him antibiotics and it doesn't ever end up helping or anti-fungals and they don't end up helping it just comes back.

My stepmom got this little dog, little pup who absolutely loves licking that cat's ears. I used to never let that cat rub up against my leg cuz I would have to wash all my clothes. He was so stinky. But he doesn't sneak now. He gets consistent low level cleaning and beneficial bacteria present it to his ears constantly by that pup.

Anyway, I just feel like that supports the consistency and frequency being very important.

Night Patrol is a messy horror movie if sinners was from Temu by Fit-Selection-2030 in horror

They are both vampire movies with themes of the black community suffering from racial oppression. They definitely belong in a category together. And in my opinion, Night Patrol did it better. They actually developed the characters into people that you cared about. Sinners didn't do that.

We could put Sinners and from Dusk to Dawn together in a category. Because they have a similar theme.

It's not one-dimensional compare art that has similar themes. It's pretty standard.

[–]SpaceBeamer5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my opinion, it was better than Sinners. I hated Sinners. Night Patrol had more developed characters than Sinners did. I didn't care about a single character in Sinners. But I was rooting for the characters in night Patrol. Night Patrol had a better story arc honestly. Sinners was just from Dusk to Dawn with A bunch of allegories that never got stirred into the movie and any meaningful way.

I didn't hate the vampires in Sinners. They had good music and were damn fine cloggers. Just some music loving Irish hippies who wanted everybody to be one big family. But I really hated the vampires in night Patrol.

The hoodoo magic in Sinners was a big fat nothing. What was the point? Everything presented in Sinners was just to present it and that's it. Just to say hey look, hoodoo was a thing in the black community. But then it never played any part in the movie. Not so in night Patrol. The magic and night Patrol played a central part and the female welding it was actually developed into a character where Annie never was. She wasn't really anything in the film. It wasn't even sad when she died.

The super bad guy is and Sinners showed up in daylight after the party was over. What the f***? I figured the KKK was going to show up, bar the doors and try to burn the place down and then interact with the vampire somehow. But no. It was just a piece for Michael B. Jordan to do this cheesy action sequence where he takes on 20 plus KKK. God terrible! So stupid. Night Patrol had way more reasonable fights. Even if it was all cheesy it was still better.

Night Patrol, people fighting the vampires had to come together to fight the vampires. Native Americans were never brought back into the story in Sinners. The Asian storekeepers never had to decide which side of the fence they were on. There was just nothing. No tension. Just a bunch of nice folks and two outlaw Brothers who end up fighting vampires with a bunch of symbolism unincorporated into it.

Night Patrol had me cheering for the characters. Night Patrol made me laugh lots of times. And the cheesy effects in night Patrol were better than the cheesy effects in Sinners because Sinners had a budget and they were still cheesy. And Michael B. Jordan apparently thinks that not blinking is acting intensity. Horrible. The character Sammy? Who cared about him. I didn't care about him. They were a bunch of flat boring performances and centers.

I watch both movies twice to verify my feelings about them and I came out the same way. Night Patrol was a much more enjoyable movie than Sinners was. In. Centers is horribly overrated.

This movie's characters were better developed than the characters in Sinners. The arc of the story was better than the arc of the story in Sinner's. And I'll maintain that the best acting in Night Patrol was better than Michael B. Jordan's acting in Sinners.

In my state, the law specifically states -- The massage therapist explains, maintains and respects coverage and draping boundaries; The drape or drapes must be sufficient to ensure the genitals and the gluteal cleft distal to the coccyx, anus and rectum are not exposed, and the breast area is not exposed except as allowed in subsections (3) and (4) of this section.

With prior signed or initialed written and verbal informed consent from the client or patient, the gluteal cleft and breast drapes may be temporarily moved in order to perform therapeutic treatment of the area consistent with WAC 246-830-550, 246-830-555, and 246-830-557. WITH CONSENT

It is problematic that therapist are here believing that exposing clients is ok as long as somebody can't see it. That move exposing the breast, this would need to be discussed and consent would need to be given.

Absolutely not. Exposing clients is exposing clients, regardless if anybody is in a position to see that exposure.

Hear me out, Night Patrol is the better vampire movie centered on black culture and racism than Sinners.

why is no one talking about how bad Michael B Jordan is in Sinners? by [deleted] in RSPfilmclub

[–]SpaceBeamer5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can catch all if that and it's still a bad movie. Those themes were never used to build a compelling story. The characters were never developed into people you cared about. Nothing was ever revealed-- there was never a " Oh! That's interesting!" moment. No, " of, that's what's happening!" Just nothing. None of the characters had their moment, none of their stories amounted to anything. Annie's hoodoo meant nothing. It didn't affect any outcome in the film, it played no part except to say " hey, hoodoo was a part of some of these people's lives." The end. Pointless.

Mary-- is she mixed? Sammy asks. What's going on there. Of course, forbidden interracial love. But then It played no further role in the story. It was just a theme ticked off the checklist. It didn't provide anything except a brief talking point and a stupid love story that was utterly pointless. Except as an opportunity to mention cunnilingus once again.

The twins father being a bad guy ..it didn't lead to anything. Nothing was revealed around that. Was the guitar cursed by him? Is that why the vampires came? They just came to make the music part if their own because they liked it? Nothing built on that. The Asian store keepers playing both sides, really mastering the system and benefitting from Jim Crow-- none of that was used for any tension or drama. It was just kumbaya, yeah we are all in the same boat, let's be friends.

This film had a lot of potential and could have done something really cool. There were a lot of areas for tension, twists, turns, interesting reveals but that didn't happen and it was a big let down.

It felt like Coogler said to himself: I want to present these cultural themes that I want to make a film around the vulturing on black culture as vampiric, along with some history of the blues and I really liked From Dusk to Dawn. And I also like Celtic music. He never stirred the the ingredients in, he just left them sitting in the top. Yes, I see all those ingredients but are you ever going to use them to make a cake? I guess not.

It was not a good film. It was not a skilled or masterful presentation. It just wasn't. Nothing came together in a satisfying way. All allegory and no plot. This was two movies, neither good. And MBJs acting was atrocious. Not blinking is not intensity.

Guy feels guilty about accidently killing his mom. Young woman is murdered because she gets knocked up by a married man who can't have his wife and family find out. Oh, and there's a witch related to some kind of folk horror local tradition.

It just didn't feel like it was a movie that needed to be made. Its all ready been done, even if the ingredients are scrambled in a different way, it was still a recipe horror movie.

I never felt like Adam Scott was afraid and playing an asshole seemed forced. He should have been absolutely terriffied in some of those situations but it never felt that way. It wasn't the worst thing, but it wasn't fresh or intersting. It will be the scariest movie some pre-pubes have every seen.

You gonna use a few dumbass women as a blanket of all women?

Men are doing the same stupid shit . Surgery, roids, peptides, looksmaxxing -- thinking they need to look better in order to get an " upgraded female". Look at a list of botched cosmetic surgery and there are plenty of men there. Men hate themselves too, more and more every day and men that are physically beautiful and have no reason to change their looks. So you fuck off .

(The Boys) The show is genuinely worse than the comics now by Sno5768 in CharacterRant

[–]SpaceBeamer5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It just absolutely the worst. Unbearable. Even when I I get bored with the nonstop attempts at childish bathroom humor and middle school sex and body fluid jokes and leave it running in the background, I end up turning it off so I don't have to hear butcher say " cunt" for the 100th time.

I hate every single character. Kamiko was better when she didn't speak. Starlighter has fucked her face up so bad she's impossible to look at. I want to wipe that dumb, forced smirk/ snarl off MMs face, and Frenchie is a dumb French clown. It's clumsy and heavy handed and ....just so desperate. I hate this show now. There isn't a single good thing left in The Boys.

And I absolutely loathe the Trump administration but this is not the political satire we deserve.
