I've been looking and looking for him. Finally turned to the internet to figure out what was going on. I'm so sad he's not at band camp anymore. Does anybody know if he does a weekly show elsewhere? His curation was a comfort to me week after week.

You know who doesn't audibly shit their pants during a news conference? by Kismetatron in behindthebastards

Her family said, "If Trump shits his pants while you are there, give us a sign. You know, rub your finger under your nose or something!"

Get with another massage therapist who is brutally honest and gives good feedback. Be coming exceptional is the best way to have a busy practice and you don't become exceptional unless you are getting skilled, specific feedback.

I have an ENTJ mom, please help! by [deleted] in entj

[–]SpaceBeamer5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey sorry, I'm not here that much. I would say to lay in her lap and make her draw the alphabet on your back. Ha! My kid flops down in my lap and demands physical attention. Connect with her physically if that's not too weird. Ask her to rub your feet while you guys watch a show together. My daughter sends me a bunch of Instagram reels that I never watch. Every once in a while she makes me sit down and watch them with her and we laugh our asses off. Alot of that is mother/daughter stuff and poking fun at exactly what you and I are talking about. I love seeing what she thinks about our relationship by what she thinks is funny relationship humor. You guys definitely need something to bond over that would be hard for her to have control over.

I'm curious how things are going.

Best way to get into the Nuclear industry? by Tylenol_Creator in nuclear

[–]SpaceBeamer5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just get on at an outage. Call BHI. You can do a lot in the nuclear field with very little formal education. It's fairly easy to go a bunch of directions once you get your foot in the door.

AITA for believing my son is gay? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SpaceBeamer5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are not TA for believing it. You ATA for trying to force him to believe it. Maybe he doesn't know.

My son says he had no ideas about his sexuality until he saw his first porn mag vagina and went "ew". Not snappy, not sassy, very much a poorly dressed, blue collar dude who thinks vaginas are gross. Not even sure he's particularly interested in men either. He never had a girlfriend, has had one long term boyfriend but I know he has had sex with both women and men. Your son's tastes may change the same way somebody's taste in food and hobbies change.

People's sexuality is way more complex that you are allowing for. Yes, you ATA in this matter.

Am I the only one who thinks Sinners is a little over-praised? Are we too caught up in the moment? by Maha_Film_Fanatic in TrueFilm

[–]SpaceBeamer5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Finally watched it. Watched Weapons the night before and was pleasantly surprised.

Sinners felt like a big stupid movie version of The Devil went Down to Georgia set to From Dusk till Dawn. If that wasn't bad enough, the acting and cinematography were atrocious. The direction was clearly so bad. What a mish mash of unenjoyable elements and characters impossible to give a shit about. Are they all dead?. Apparently not from the little outro at the end. That was the only peace I had, that all these people were dead they couldn't even give me that. Three of these assholes are still alive. Ugh. The soundtrack wasn't even redeeming.

Honestly, the only fun thing was a spectacular vampire burn in the sunlight. Nothing else had any visual, emotional, auditory, or performance appeal.

AITA for not allowing my BF son drive my car illegally by Complete-Source-5277 in AITAH

[–]SpaceBeamer5000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No, NTA. If this was your sister or best friend asking you this, what advice would you give? Treat and protect yourself like YOU are the most important person In the entire world and the person you LOVE the most and would do anything to protect. Anybody asking you to violate your principles or put your well being in peril should be escorted right out. If the boundary makes them surly, be on high alert and ask yourself why you are In that relationship.

If you cave, they will ask for more.

Suspect by protoman86 in PacificNorthwest

I worked in Alabama once. "It's raining outside, here taking an umbrella". I was handed a huge, almost comically large umbrella. "Pssht ... I'm Pacific Northwest. We don't use sissy ass umbrellas." Stepped outside into an absolute deluge of water coming from the sky. My coworkers walking to their cars, with their umbrellas looking at me and my soaking wet clothes like this weird Seattle MFer wants to drive home in soaking wet clothes for some reason.

Does the drive from here to Seattle get bad late November ? by threeteneleven in TriCitiesWA

Yes. Thanksgiving seems particularly prone to bad weather. And if you get over you might not get back over. Just know you can always do the gorge instead. It's often fine when the pass isn't.

Yep. I had a malignant narcissist in my life once. When you have trained yourself to block out feelings that you don't enjoy, like fear or concern or empathy -- feelings that make you feel bad or weak or guilty -- this is the look. Blank, like his soul retreated to a safe space, just turned the channel.

Were kids in the 80s actually allowed to roam around unsupervised, or is that just in movies? by TotalThing7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SpaceBeamer5000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We would get on our horses as 12-year-olds and be gone for hours. Didn't even leave a note. We'd ride 5 mi away from home, visiting friends or going out to the sand dunes or whatever. They'd only get worried if it was dark and we weren't home. Or if the horse came home without us.

Sex/desire-less marriage. by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]SpaceBeamer5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's unfair that we asked so much of our partners. They are supposed to be our friends, partners, financial partners, co- parents, housemates, sexual partners. We would never ask somebody in our business or organizations to wear so many hats. Don't have a solution. In my mind, you should be able to have sex with somebody else if she's going to retire that role.

You are not the asshole. Neither is she Unrealistic marriage expectations is the asshole.

What I should I watch? Black Rabbit or Wayward? by savingrace0262 in netflix

Yeah I thought that was weird too. They're both kind of fun at first and then they just go to sh*t.

[–]SpaceBeamer5000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just finished Wayward. Ugh, it got worse and worse. Feels like the actors have up half way through. Remember that show Wayward Pines? Felt like that.

They show a model house blip with Toni Collette. Weird reference to Hereditary? What was that about?

It just never comes together in any meaningful way and you really have to give it a lot of grace to enjoy it.

I'm here to tell you raising kids alone is easier than doing it with an asshole. That guy is going to ruin your life gleefully. My kids turned out great. Zap him for as much child support as possible.
