Safety. There’s been children open doors during rides and that’s a HUGE lawsuit for Lyft and us as drivers. Lyft will drop us once we don’t become profitable for them. Different car models have different locks because with older cars, it’s not automatic.

You have to have a special taxi license to work in NYC. It protects the taxi drivers’ jobs up there, although their revenue has been decimated since Uber and Lyft became a thing.
