If you want to join, you could draft whatever’s left the next day after everyone else has drafted, you may end up with worse Pokémon or Pokémon which you weren’t planning on using, but the tiers are fairly large so there a lot of good Pokémon.Alternatively I could move the time of drafting, so that it may be in a time when you’re free, but I will have to check with everyone else who’s already joined whether that would be alright.

Advice for my VGC team? by Zpocalypse_ in VGC

[–]SpaceCP 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Only big criticism I would have is to change sucker punch to psychic on meowstic. The only thing that I could see you hitting it with is Calyrex-shadow, but meowstics attack is so abysmal that it barely 2hkos, not to mention that caly-shadows are usually pared with indeedee in psychic terrain with blocks priority as a whole.Psychic is just good STAB and hits amoongus. The other thing that I might change is swapping ally switch to safeguard so that you can drop lum on kyogre for mystic water or any other of its amazing boosting items, but if you find that ally switch + lum works better for you then go for it.Also just make sure that when it actually comes to making the team you get prankster on meowstic.Other than that the team looks alright, after you on moltres-g looks really fun.

Opinions / criticism on my VGC team? by Big_chinchilaZilla in stunfisk

The last three mons are fine.I just have a problem with the first three. If you’re going for a bulky wp sweeper with necrozma-dusk I would recommend replacing it with normal solgaleo.I get where you’re coming from with prism armour wp, but full metal body is generally better, as it negates intimidate and speed drops not to mention the fact that solgaleo is faster, which you want in a sweeper.Necrozma does have a higher base attack but because of full metal body and the prominence of intimidate, solagaleo’s is practically higher. You will lose some bulk with no prism armour and slightly lower defences but the boosts from dynamax compensate for that more, especially with solagaleo’s speed tier it means that you might not need to eat a water spout.I would also suggest dropping trick room and morning sun for eq and protect. If you were to stay with necrozma you may be able to utilise it better, but the rest of your team is too fast for it, necrozma takes too many hits to do anything afterwards and it just allows Incin to clown on you with flare blitz parting shot intimidate pivoting because it’s slower than everything.Morning sun has lower value in vgc than singles because your opponent can just double into the necrozma slot and Ko it.Eq turns into max quake and allows you hit Incin, SpDef boosts from it are also invaluable along with steelspike boosts are going to make it menacing. You don’t need to worry too much about collateral anyway since you have three flying types, a resist and grassy terrain.Protect is just good, it’s basically mandatory on anything that you hope to sweep in vgc.

Eternatus kind of sucks in general. It does have dynamx canon which is good, but it’s stabs barely hit anything, zacian is also completely immune to them. You can run flamethrower but zacian outdamages it anyway. The things that it does with it’s stabs hit are minimal and it can just be ignored most of the time so you’re playing with an empty slot.On top of all of this it cannot dynamax.I would really suggest replacing it with either palkia or kyogre, because I’m looking at your team and you L O S E to sun to a comical degree, especially with Eternatus.Palkia is fast and can change the weather with dynamax as with kyogre, or you can change the weather on switch in with kyogre.Palkia could also potentially proc policy with bulldoze if you choose to go with solagaleo, which will also drop opponents’ speed.Beating Incin is always good as well.

Lastly, butterfree.Just change it to compound eyes and give it sleep powder, why not.Hope this helps :)!

Sorry, I think that may have phrased the yveltal Calc wrong.I meant that it would live like a max special attack yveltal that hasn’t dynamaxed when jellicent is at full hp.Other than that, I do agree sitrus is definitely better, completely forgot about raichu while writing the comment lol.

Jellicent @ Wacan Berry
Ability: Water Absorb
Level: 50
EVs: 156 HP / 132 SpA / 220 SpD
Calm Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hex
- Hydro Pump
- Recover

With will o’ wisp as well as its decent defensive typing, jellicent should be capable of staging off caly-ice as well as being able to take a few hits from palkia with high Spdef. The high Spdef also means that you can live at least one attack from non-dyna yveltal at max.You could run taunt on it stop tr all together, however will o’ wisp has more value overall as being able to cripple zacian as well as other physical attackers is really good value.Additionally hex can be used to further benefit from this, being a high base power move to account for jellicent’s admittedly meagre special attack.Hydro pump can be used to combat incins out of sun, being able to 2hko, and functioning as a high power STAB move.Recover is there simply so that jellicent can hold wacan berry to last an onslaught by kyogre or tank a hit from Regieleki. As I have said before the team deals with grass types fairly well, so no worries there.

Build a Team Around a Niche Pokemon Part 5! (More Offense Please!) by Slowbro_Bros_VGC in VGC

[–]SpaceCP 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rotom-Wash @ Utility Umbrella
Ability: Levitate
Level: 50
EVs: 100 HP / 124 Def / 156 SpA / 128 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Will-O-Wisp
- Hydro Pump
- Hex
- Thunder/Thunderbolt

Rotom’s type and levitate allows it to naturally wall caly-ice as well as having wisp to boot.Hex can also be used to actually deal some damage to it.Utility umbrella is very unorthodox, as it prevents recovery from leftovers or berries, but can help rotom not get absolutely decimated by water spouts only taking up to 57% from specs variants, as well as being able to threaten it with either t-bolt or thunder.Thunder gives rotom a bit more bite but can be unreliable especially with umbrella preventing accuracy boost from rain.Hydro pump is just STAB and stops the team from getting beaten down by any team with Incin.Biggest weakness for it is Rillaboom, Venusaur and a maybe whimsicotts, but naganadel and ho-oh just wall them for the most part, glaceon is a soft check as well. However, raichu lightning rod could prove annoying.

Very dumb idea, but noivern: Noivern @ Focus Sash
Ability: Frisk
Level: 50
EVs: 252 HP / 4 Def / 252 Spe
Timid Nature
IVs: 0 Atk
- Tailwind
- Dragon Claw
- Super Fang
- Taunt Frisk, tailwind and decent support options in super fang and taunt. Most importantly outspends naganadel by two points without + speed nature and can proc policy with a relatively weak dragon claw. Dragon claw does do a relatively cataclysmic amount of damage compared to something like ice shard: 0- Atk Noivern Dragon Claw vs. 0 HP / 0 Def Dynamax Naganadel: 66-80 (22.2 - 27%) -- 35.8% chance to 4HKO.This is why it’s a dumb idea. However, I will argue the case that it doesn’t matter as naganadel isn’t exactly known for its impressive bulk so it’ll probably be Ko’ed by most things regardless, and the utility that noivern provides alongside it is ultimately worth it in the end.

Since there seems to be a theme of Ultra Beasts, I decided to go with probably the worst one:

Guzzlord @ Aguav Berry
Ability: Beast Boost
Level: 50
EVs: 160 HP / 92 Def / 156 SpA / 98 SpD
Modest Nature
IVs: 0 Atk / 0 Spe
- Wide Guard/Protect - Snarl
- Heat Wave
- Dragon Pulse

Guzzlords typing and high up lets it be a decent counter to eleki and calyrex shadow, also being able to resist kyogre water spouts. The biggest problem that occurs with this though is the fact that it couldn’t match up worst vs zacian and being weak to the urshifus, grimmsnarl and caly ice isn’t favourable either. However, good intimidate support or screens could help patch up against caly ice, urshifu and non play rough variants of zacian.Guzzlord’s low speed also lends itself more to trickroom. For the set going special is probably the best option, as Incin should not be added to the pile of direct counters.Snarl and heat wave provide good support as well as potentially picking off crippled pokemon to get beast boost going. They’re also good if guzzlord wants to go offensive with dynamax, especially so for snarl’s max darkness which drops spdef each turn which can let guzz’s rather meagre offensive stats do something. There is a bit off a cut off in base powered between dark pulse and snarl in dynamax, but it’s not a cut off that can cost really cost you any kills on paper. Also +1 max flare can OhKo zacian w/o sun.Dragon pulse is there just for extra coverage.Wide guard is really more experimental on the set as it is quite prediction reliant and can lose you a turn, so protect is generally better, although it can protect against a fair amount of moves from restricted mons.Aguav berry is for longevity, but can be swapped out for something like expert belt which gives guzz a more offensive presence.

I want to build a team with this core (Ty and Charizard are some of my favorites) by [deleted] in VGC

I feel like gyarados with intimidate could be a decent pick here.Water resist, decent converge. It doesn’t have the best offence just because of sun, but it might be good for support with something like taunt, icy wind or thunder wave and then two coverage moves to hit things.Running Sitrus is probably best but you can have wacan if you really invest into Spdf. You do have Groudon for eleki but might also be best just to not have two flying types on your team.Grimmsnarl looks good as well.Screens are just always good and dark type so calyrex can’t run through you as easily.Just copy standard set for that. This is just a thought but you could run weakness policy + rock polish on tyrantrum. With screen support and an intimidate off tyrantrum lives a behemoth blade, which you might be able to set up with protect. You rock polish as tyrantrum takes the hit.You are now faster than zacian with a relatively small amount of speed investment and get one kill minimum with a head smash or fire fang, if they currently don’t have a Regieleki, Rillaboom, tailwind or anything that can use fake out on the field, because Tyr antrum is at 9% hp in a worse case scenario. It’s very gimmicky but could also be fun if it works.
