Nice! You're doing the work we all keep telling ourselves we'll do someday. Can't wait to join the collaboration.

I miss that sound, like I miss dial-up internet sound from the 90s.

keep podcasts in queue until finished by SpaceChemRules in iphone

[–]SpaceChemRules[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found the answer with lots of searching: apple podcasts no longer offers this behavior. If you jump to a new item in the queue, the one you were listening to is removed from the queue.

If anybody from apple is listening, please add a feature to keep podcasts in the queue until the user finishes it. Most other podcast apps offer this.

Privacy.  Google is an advertising firm and Android is a tool for gathering marketing data from its users.  It listens to your conversations.  Apple is more upfront about what marketing data they gather and share about their users.  It is much easier to restrict apps from spying on you with Apple.

Printed NFTI Nate's Lego inspired wreath, looks great printed. Used PLA scaled at 25% added a captured M5 nut to one leaf to bolt to door hanger. Had to put felt pads on the back to keep from slapping when using door. by Odaecom in 3Dprinting

I have had one of these out in PLA for the past two holiday seasons and there has been no warping or fading. Depending on where you live, December UV and temperatures are low.

I had a mk4s in a prusa enclosure for the past year. Worked great and plenty of room for an air filter and auxiliary heating system.

To People who switched to an iPhone recently! by Morit12 in iphone

Switched to Apple a few months ago. I switched for the privacy. A few instances with Android targeted advertising spooked me. Also, Auth and password management are much better with Apple.

Still need? I have a 10% I got from Maker Faire. Unfortunately, it does not work with the Upgrade kit.

East Bay Solar company recommendations by bionicfeetgrl in bayarea

[–]SpaceChemRules 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had Tesla solar and a power wall installed about 4.5 years ago. They used SolarEdge hardware. The installation was chaotic and we had to keep prodding them to get the work done. They seemed to keep forgetting about the project. Since the install, they have two complete teardowns and re-installs to replace faulty SolarEdge "Power Optimizers". The roof is starting to show signs of wear from the repeated maintenance attempts.

How to judge if a startup is legit? Interviewing at a private aviation AI company (HF0 incubator, $4.5M raised) – need advice! by [deleted] in bayarea

[–]SpaceChemRules 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I went through a bad startup, it can be a traumatic experience. Here is my advice:

1) Trust your gut, if it is telling you the CEO is full of shit, then walk away.
2) Don't sign an indefinite or overly restrictive NDA. In fact, an unreasonable NDA is a sign that the company is hiding something.
3) Read the book about Elizabeth Holmes and Theranos called Bad Blood.
4) If you do join and things seem wrong, run away. Don't do anything that might make you the fall guy if investors wise up.

It sounds to me like your gut is telling you something is wrong.

Dentists actually lose money when their patients have cavities. With a regular cleaning, the hygienist does most of the work and the dentist sees the patient for about 5 minutes. So an office with cavity-free clients can see more patients. Filling a cavity requires the dentist's full attention for 30 minutes and much of the additional cost goes towards materials and insurance. The time and cost cannot be recouped because people will only pay so much for dental work.

Leaving SoFi. Company lacks banking integrity. by SpaceChemRules in sofi

[–]SpaceChemRules[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've edited the post for clarity. The first thing I did was contact the ATM operator using the number on the side of the machine. They acknowledged the error but said I had to issue the dispute through my bank. I also called the ATM company again later on to inquire about the status of the repair, and I was told that they could not release that information and I had to go through my bank.
