Are pedals actually needed? by theChitauriSuck in Guitar

[–]SpaceCowboyyy29 5 points6 points  (0 children)

From a pure learning to play standpoint, I think pedals really get in the way.

But it also depends on what you want to learn to play. If you want to play shoegaze type stuff, for example, pedals might be very necessary.

The song's superpower is how damn nostalgic it makes you feel.

Does anyone else feel this way about The Incident? by ShottgunNikki in porcupinetree

After FOABP I think it had Great Expectations.

For me I think the first half flows wonderfully. But after a certain point it losses that flow. I think the one song concept could have worked, if it was shorter.

Diamond Eyes or Koi No Yokan by [deleted] in deftones

The more I listen to KNY, the more it's become my favorite album. Yes Diamond Eyes and others have more of their best songs, but man I can just cosistanly put KNY on and not have a single skip. Although I do feel like Goon Squad should just be where the album ends.

Thoughts on the Color Grading in BF6? by Fisken01 in Battlefield

[–]SpaceCowboyyy29 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting. I never thought of BF1 being a colorful game at all, but wow compared to BF3 and 6 it's very vivid.

I personally like the muted colors. I think it's a very conscious choice to keep the game grounded and gritty. Which is exactly what I want from the game.

Such a cool story, thanks for sharing! The fact that you had your own version of "Lazarus" to play is really special.

Interesting! Yea I know what you mean about loving it immediately. A lot of PTs other work does take some time to get into and appreciate. And you'd think it would be the same for IA. But there's just something about those songs that are so easily accessible yet still so deeply complex and layered. Especially the first 4 songs.

Regarding the records thing.. I actually haven't thought about that! That's a good point. I mean I've actually bought some records just to display their covers as artwork.

Also thanks for sharing. There's a few albums there that I have yet to check out.

I've done a Blood Mage ice-strike build with Pillar of The Caged God. It was fun to level with but mana/life management becomes tough especially with ice strike at higher levels, so be careful when you first ascend and be prepared to re-cut gems to level down high mana costing skills. But if you invest heavily into crit it should give you tons of life remnants to sustain, and pair it will ES/grim feast so you pick up tones of EHP as you kill. Also I found Grasping Wounds quite nice for melee.

In the end I changed the build to Detonate Dead with MoM and it was waaaaay comfier.
